Locust Grove Train Viewing Platform — Local services in Locust Grove

This is a great place to park, eat, and shop in Locust Grove, Georgia Hwy. 42 strip just a few blocks from town hall... During this autumn season, come experience a blue grass/ gospel/ country jamboree with usually 2 to 3 bands of singers and instrumentalists on Saturdays from 6:30-9pm... There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and sights to see... The Peach Pit has karaoke right across the street during this time as well, if you want to entertain others yourself... Be sure to check out Shorty's BBQ across the street for the best BBQ in town,as well as the Lovin' Oven Pizza, and a posh French Market... Come prepared to socialize during these times of social distancing... Bring a chair, sanitizer, and mask, food, and drink, or some money for the restaurant experience... O, and a sweater or jacket for the chill in the air... See ya...

Platform, Scanner, Seats, Great Parking, Great Location! This line is quite busy, so good on Locust Grove on capitalizing on that! All that's left is Wi-Fi. Funny Story: We came here from a billboard that advertised this very place bear Valdosta while heading to Atlanta.

I will dock off 1 star for accessibility. It's awkwardly placed in the middle of downtown coming off of the interstate. If there was more wayfinding like signs or so, that would be awesome.

It's great to have the train depot where the kids can listen to the engineers talk to ea other & dispatch, or so I assume that's who's talking !! The kids were excited for a bit & then got restless. No train came Hah. We left , ate lunch & stopped by again & kids got to see one long & one short train. Thx heaven :)) Wish there was a way to post train times in pavilion, sure would make it easier.
