Koji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Locust Grove

Not a good experience. New to Locust Grove. Took my visiting relatives to Koji, excited for a great Hibachi/Tepanyaki experience. Asked in advance for no butter, no egg. Server said no problem, tell your Chef, too. I told the Chef when he confirmed orders. The whole dinner the Chef kept putting butter on the food and had a seeming attitude every time I would say, remember no butter for me. It got so bad one of the strangers at the table said to the Chef once, hey buddy, she said she can't have butter. I told my server afterwards as it really was a very bad experience and the food over all from my opinion, tasted sub-par. It made me wonder if allegedly, because this is a smaller town and not in Atlanta, a larger city, if they are just giving sub-par service because of an assumption that locals may not know better or require the same. In front of my family it was a bad choice for dinner, a Chef with an attitude, butter all in or around my food, and just not a good food or service experience. The Server however, was nice. Interestingly, before we walked in the restaurant I asked another group leaving, how was their food and they said, it was just alright. That should have been my clue to drive further north to another Japanese restaurant. Like that group, based on my experience, I can not recommend this restaurant.This incident happened in...

Food was great as usual. Service was not the usual very good. Server did not ask to refill drinks, did not clean dishes off of table and as soon as chef left with the cart, he rushed over with to go boxes. Now more no one has ever started eating their meats. and rest of veg's. When he brought over take out plates sitting some on the side of people's plate. Then within about 5 min he was back with our checks. That wasn't enough, he came back within 10 min to collect payments. Only 1 person was ready so he took it, came back looking for others. No one was ready to pay. Returned again in 5 min. A 2nd person went ahead and paid. When he returned we decided to pack our food up and finish at home so the other 2 people paid. Then guess what....he mixed the 2 cards up and charged the cards for the wrong amounts. Why, I don't know. They were on separate check holders. We eat there quiet often....6-7 times this year already. I spoke to a manager to advise about being rushed. Didn't know about the charge mix up then. We really like eating here and will try one more time but no more if it...

i dash in the locust grove area. tonight i had a fairly good paying order to deliver and got to koji within a minute of accepting and told them i had a doordash order to pickup, i was told “it’s still cooking its not ready yet” so okay that’s fine. no problem. then.. 35 minutes go by…. still no order, no one has updated me, or even acknowledged i was there. so i asked “hey what’s going on with my doordash order?” and was told, “all orders are being made together and basically put on an assembly line”………. no idea what that means but cool, another 10 minutes go by and finally my order is brought out, then what surprised me was the fact the 3 large cokes were put into a cardboard box with so support whatsoever, that eventually spilled in my car….. i wouldn’t recommend picking up from here or ordering doordash from here unless you’d like to wait 1 hour before...
