Amazing selection of boots and coats. Dee was very helpful in sharing the details of vintage items. I felt the items were a pretty good deal compared to what’s being sold online. Although I did feel a tinge hovered over a couple times, I was spending quite a bit of time in the store trying on boots and getting Dee’s opinion. She was even still accommodating my small dog and bag in the store for this whole time. I could see how some shoppers’ experience of her public complaining about thieving customers and employees would be disheartening and deterrent to business, I wasn’t sure how to respond after a while of her telling me about this. But she did explain to me that she’s the only one working in there sometimes and finds it difficult to keep up. I am a young white female so I cannot speak to the profiling but I regret to hear that and am taking it into consideration. Cool store but there are a lot of over priced items. The owner (I’m assuming) was watching me like a hawk and almost made me feel like I was doing something wrong. She then makes passive comments to some guy she was talking to about having to watch people because a lot of people steal from her store. She makes comments about not trusting people in Long Beach??? She then makes another comment complaining about people going in the store and not buying anything and just taking pictures! Hello! The main demographic of the people who shop here are college students/young adults of course want to go to check out the store and may not be able to afford these over priced items?? I’ve been in here four times because I live in the area and each time the older lady that runs the place has been insufferable. The moment you grab a piece of clothing she asks you to check in or that she will keep your items at the front. And not in a helpful way, in a frantic and pushy way. I understand there may be thieves, I have worked retail. But she seems to assume you’re guilty until proven innocent. She has made several passive aggressive remarks and rolled her eyes when I asked my friend if he was ready to leave when she asked if we were ready to check out.
