I am a middle aged women who wants something that is challenging but not to where I can't walk or raise my arms the next days. I am really trying to build and strengthen my joints, feet, and hands. I practiced yoga for about a year like 5 years ago and am now just getting back into it. I go to both the Long Beach and the Huntington Beach locations. They are both very clean, staff is very nice at both. I have been trying different classes and different instructors to see what I like the most. The Red class seems to be fitting my personal needs, is most like a traditional yoga class from my limited experience. I also really like the Green class which focuses on standing poses and less on shoulders and arms. The restoration class isn't for me personally but the other people that attended seemed to really be stoked on it. I am looking forward to working up to Purple and trying the Purple fit. Really want to jump into that cold plunge and then try some red light therapy at the HB location. I love that they have class times that will accommodate almost any time I want, either right after work or a little later in the night. I don't know how many other people would be into this but a Sunday night like 6 or 7, would be cool to mentally prepare for my work week but I may be unique in wanting this. But if you had it, I would go. I think for what you get the price is extremely reasonable. ...
Read moreSahara is a gem! Sahara carefully and thoughtfully curated a beautiful retreat. I can’t wait for the next one. I loved every session. From the early morning Pranayama Breathing Practice sessions on the Perch, to yoga sessions, to the Skills Workshop, and of course, to the much laughter and fun-filled Cold Plunge. The Cold Plunge experience was my first and I would have never dared to immerse myself in iced-cold water had it not been for Sahara’s cheerful support and encouragement. I enjoyed that experience immensely, 4 times! Sahara encouraged and cheered for us every step of the way to push beyond our comfort level while at the same time being quite attuned to individual needs and skill level. She is an amazingly positive teacher and such a pleasure to practice with. Thanks for an impeccably organized...
Read moreI was a member of Purple Yoga studio for a while.. Experienced nice moments, a specially during retreat to Bali. However, my life situation changed drastically and I became a full time student in Respiratory Therapy. I am 55 and unfortunately I had to make different decision to start life from beginning. As difficult this time it is, I was asking management provide me with student discount. Unfortunately owners denied request for a reason of my age. They emailed me that they only support young generation students. I felt disappointed and discriminated against due to my age. I believe that support for students should transcend age boundaries. I feel there is a contrast between yoga philosophy and owners response. Unfortunately the management is not supportive and it's discriminating, very...
