Our dining experience at Playa Amor was not unpleasant at all. I just had high hopes of really enjoying their menu because their insta pictures look amazing!! But, I was very quickly turned off by their chips and salsa because they more like tostadas and salsa. Yes, of course it's technically the same thing but the tostadas had no salt and the salsa had fresh chopped onion in it and the flavors didn't really mix together. There was no spiciness to the salsa and it was almost as good as what you get in a jar at the store. This is washed down mexican food. The fact that the only latinos there were us and the lady making handmade tortillas should have told me everything about Playa Amor. The hubby ordered Birria and it was good. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce had great flavor but honestly I've had better. My enchiladas were okay. For this reason I will not give them anything less than 3 stars. There was nothing taste wise that stood out. Their flavor is just not for me. Mexican food is full of flavors and unfortunately I didn't find much of it here. The best thing was their handmade tortillas. Their service was great. I won't be returning because I honestly want better tasting mexican food...
Read moreI went with my unit at work for a Christmas party/dinner. The female general manager there was absolutely horrible. I let her know that I have lupus and I cannot sit in the sun, she tried accommodating another table; however it was still in the sun and when I informed her of this and asked to sit in an empty area in the shade I was told that it was closed. I was not accommodated So I left to make a phone call.
One of my coworkers and friends for 11 years walked up as I was making a phone call, I let her know what happen and she stated for me to come with her and that we would be sitting in the shade. That she worked at a restaurant in her teens and that if something such as accommodation not to sit in the sun is requested, there are no questions. And again I let the general manager know I have lupus. I walked back in with my friend went to the shady table n sat down.
Our server “Chezzy” (Cheziray) was phenomenal and she gets a billion stars 🌟🌟🌟 she was attentive, kind, considerate n prompt n correct w our food.

Read moreCame here on a suggestion from a patient. The food here is elevated Mexican gastronomy with a twist. Hand made tortillas, beef short rib tacos, braised beef ribs plate, spare ribs plate, ceviche and, personally, my favorite Chile relleno burger.
Yes, this a Mexican joint. Trust me when I say, DON'T SLEEP on this burger. About 1/2 lb of high quality ground beef, topped with a light battered Chile relleno stuffed with oozing, melting cheese, remoulade spread sandwiched between a brioche bun ($14.75). So massive, it's delivered on it's own cutting board and a steak knife driven in the burger to keep the burger together.
Another bright spot on this food excursion were the appetizers, especially, the Mexican Sweet corn. A must order while here at Playa Amor.
The only downside here waa the Guacamole, in my opinion. The Guacamole lacked a bit of salt and citrus for my taste. The drinks are not as strong as I'd like.
There is a happy hour menu everyday from 1130-5pm and all day on Tuesday! Service is great and...
