Arrived around 9:30 AM for breakfast this Sunday morning, November 7th. Seated fairly quickly and waited at least 20 minutes for a server to take our order. Ordered with specifications about how we wanted our omelettes prepared and that we preferred our food be served hot (not room temperature). The server delivered our food to our table in a little over 20 minutes. It was cooked as we specified and was quite tasty. Our server (Sammy) apologized for the lengthy amount of time it took to take our order and deliver our food. Sammy explained that the restaurant was quite busy and was operating with limited staff.
We encountered two problems during our visit. The first was a group of diners at the very back of the section in which we were seated who were extremely loud and quite frankly obnoxious with their inconsiderately high volume. Additionally, they appeared to keep their server going back and forth with matters pertaining to their order. Twice we asked hostesses passing by to let the diners know they were quite loud and disturbing us. Both said they’d alert management. Unfortunately the managers on duty at that time were unresponsive to our requests and did not appear at our table until after the diners left. When they did appear at our table, the first one defensively apologized for the loud diners saying “we got in trouble the last time (they) notified diners that they were disturbing others. Later, another manager poked his head into our booth area and asked us if we were “OK,” to which we replied that we were at that time (since the aforementioned loud diners had earlier departed the restaurant). The behavior and approach these managers exhibited about this situation seemed somewhat cowardly rather than timid. It might be that they were not careful about how they told the previous diners that “got them in trouble” that they were disturbing others.
The second problem was with checkout. Our bill totaled $39.51. We asked the manager at the cash register if we could pay with both card and cash, to which he replied “yes.” After checking my wallet and discovering that I had no coins, I instructed him to charge my Visa debit card $15 and that we would pay $24 cash. I explained that I did not have coins to pay the exact $.51 change to pay $23.51.The manager replied that he did not have change for $24 to give me back the $.49 change due. He was told that this was no problem. After exiting the restaurant, I noticed that the manager charged my Visa card $15.51 and the receipt he issued was for only the card portion of the purchase…and he actually entered $15.51 for the card portion of the purchase. The register receipt he issued did not include any cash payment. I found this quite disturbing and borderline dishonest.
Other than the couple of aforementioned problems, our dining experience was...
Read moreWalked, and got seated. Straight faced older gentlemen asked if wanted to drink something, heard us, and walked away. I felt as if he hated us for coming in, and making him work. We got our drinks and 2 minutes later another younger waiter came and asked if we were ready, straight faced just like the previous one. Never smiled, or asked anything (not that I needed a conversation) but at least some expression would have been great other than ( I hate working here and being here). I ordered banana Nutella crepes (about 10$). Not long after, he brought our food, again barely said anything. I was excited to try crepes as I love them especially with nutella. My god, how can you mess it up with something simple as crepes. Especially a place that is supposed to be experts in these dishes. Crepes were undercooked,i felt as if I was eating plain flour mixed with some salt and water. Way too salty (as if they made them for breakfast with bacon) and then there was barely any nutella. They were topped a bit, and then empty inside. So what I did is scooped some nutella from the 2 crepes and added it to the other 2. The best part of my dish=banana slices. I guess they mastered in slicing bananas.
I used to love IHOP. I barely ever write reviews. Had to express my disappointment. Will definitely not be back. What a...
Read moreThe food was fine, but the service was terrible. The hostess walked by us twice without any acknowledgement (a simple I'll be right with you would have been fine). When she finally seated us, we could barely hear a word she said telling us the server would be with us shortly. We sat waiting for over 5 minutes before a different server took our drink order. We then sat several more minutes before I had to ask for our server to come take our food order. The food came in a decent amount of time, but we were nearly finished eating before our server came by to offer a refill of our drinks. After finishing our food, we then sat for at least another 10 minutes when I finally had to ask for our check. The restaurant was fairly busy, but not enough to warrant this many delays. They were also several people waiting to pay their bill at the counter and to be seated (there were lots of open tables) while the hostess walked around wiping off tables. They really need to work on better service and have a hostess that pays more attention to the people in the...
