After visiting the Sock Monkey Museum in historic Long Grove, I immediately knew it would be the perfect place to celebrate my 65th birthday â to honor my grandchildren, my great niece/nephew and my family. This was a celebration of family, marking my cancer survivorship and a long overdue opportunity to gather. From the moment I first entered the Sock Monkey Museum, I was in awe at the charm and quaintness of this lovely Museum, and felt that I was back in a charming little Wisconsin town. That feeling was only surpassed by the friendliness of the entire staff who, during my party, were beyond accommodating and oh so very friendly â they immediately felt like family. The Museum boasts an incredible collection of antique Sock Monkeys on display throughout, a wonderful general store with endless shopping opportunities that exceed all levels of cuteness, a beautiful and intriguing museum, along with so much to see and do - including stuffing and dressing a sock monkey or other character, all while exploring so many nooks and crannies. Itâs absolutely the perfect place for all ages with so much to see and do. My party could not have been more wonderful. The catered food in their private party rooms was exceptional and only surpassed by the unparalleled service provided by Arlene and her team. The staff treat every guest like family and they took wonderful photographs throughout my party so that my memories of this special day can live on forever. I highly recommend a visit to the beautiful and unique Sock Monkey Museum â to say hello, to stuff a sock monkey, to host a party, or just for an incredible place to have so much fun while reminiscing about the past and future. Itâs a must place to visit. Not everyone will bring home a 7â tall sock monkey, as I did, but I couldnât turn down the sentimental and oh so cute gift that is now named after each one of the little kiddos in my family. Plan your visit...
Read moreWhat a happy whimsical museum? My nearly grown kids and I visited thinking this was a joke, but an awesome joke. When we arrived we viewed the first floor gift shop and exhibits. It was great. We thought that was the whole museum. We were then told there was a paid museum upstairs. It was just six bucks for adults. Of course we had to go upstairs. Come to find out the owner, was our tour guide, showing us the history and exhibits related to Sock Monkeys. I really can't stress how good of a job they've done with this little museum. Your six bucks would be worth it for a just a 10 minute visit, or if you have children you might stay for hours. Additionally, I would like to return and do one of their sock monkey sewing classes, because why not? It's worth the drive, an instant classic visit for...

My daughter turned 5 and we had guests of all ages and kids from 1 to 14 years old. They all had a blast: they loved the museum and the scavenger hunt andâŚ.. making their own toy! ! ! What..?!! Yes!
The pizza from nearest local restaurant was delicious (you can order on your own but the museum can order for you and just add it to your bill, one less thing on your list âď¸).
The staff and the owner of the museum are so kind and friendly and helpful in every way. Thank you, Ladies!
I highly recommend them to all my friends who missed the party because the rest already know that the Sock Monkey Museum is a very lovely and unique place to visit for...
