A lot of words come to mind as you pull up to Covered Bridge Creamery, mostly words like "quaint", "cozy", or "charming". As first impressions go, that would be spot-on for this delightful spot nestled into the pleasantly rustic but well-groomed Long Grove area.
You'll be greeted warmly as you enter and peruse the menu, which has a few surprises in its coffee/ice cream fusions. There's Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream on deck, a personal favorite brand of mine, and about a dozen-some flavors to choose from. Scoops are generous for the price point: a double scoop just about put me at my limit and I'm no slouch. My partner ordered "Affogato", a scoop of vanilla ice cream with an espresso shot poured over it, it was wonderful.
A bit of a bonus treat was the live music in the outdoor sitting area - I wasn't expecting anything like that when I stepped out for ice cream, but it was a welcome surprise. Definitely made for an excellent end to a cool night in these waning days of summer.
I'll be returning for my next ice cream or coffee fix, I suggest you...

Covered Bridge Creamery is a real treat for Long Grove and the residents are lucky to have this gem. I was told by one of the owners that they get jam-packed in the summer as does the rest of the downtown with all the festivities.
The Latina lady working that evening was very kind and it's that type of warm & inviting customer service that keeps you coming back and not to mention it is Chocolate Shoppe which is some of the finest ice cream you'll ever have.
Not sure when they'll reopen, guessing in the spring when the outside slowly starts turning green again and the weather starts warming up again as well.
Excellent ice cream at still reasonable prices in a cozy rustic setting with outdoor seating as well. I try my best to support local and I wish the owner(s) continued success &...
Read moreI am a long time CBC customer. Tonight they closed at 9:00 pm. I haven’t been in in a while, and I wanted to quickly pop in an see the flavors they currently have offered. I opened the door at 9:02 (there were still several people in line waiting to be served) and an employee immediately yelled, “We’re CLOSED!” Look, I get it, it’s Friday night, and they want to get home, but it was jarring and rude. So much so that a young girl (she was maybe 6 or 7) waiting in line said, “It’s ok! They’re not closed.” A different way to handle my arrival would have been, “Welcome to Covered Bridge Creamery! We closed at 9:00 tonight.” That communicates the exact same message, and I’m not writing this review right now. Between the new limited hours and now the rudeness of the staff, we will be taking our...
