I have been going to Murdoch's a few times a month for many, many years. After yesterday (1/30/17) I am done. This is not so much a complaint about their stock, but their staff and a general rant about why local brick and mortars are going out of business. I was in line to make my purchase. There was only one cashier, no problem. The customer in front of me was purchasing an item without a price tag. After several minutes and at least one employee making two trips to find a price the cashier called for help. Still no problem. Another cashier finally came to the front and told me she would help me at another register. No problem. She could not get the register to work, did not offer an apology and told me I had to get back in line. Not quite a problem, but slightly frustrated. I turned and some chuckle head quickly pushed his cart up to block me from returning to the original line. No problem, but there were now four other customers behind him. Now we have a problem. I simply said "Bleep it" and walked out. Now, had the employee who couldn't operate her cash register simply moved me to another register, or alerted the original cashier to take me next (as I was the next person in line) there would not have been a problem from my perspective. However, like most young employees today, she did not have a lick of common sense or actual courtesy. That she told me I just had to "get back in line" (at the end of the line) after being graced with her less than helpful or professional presence, was the proverbial straw for me and yet another example of why I do most of my shopping online and not locally. So, Murdoch's, that has until now had helpful and courteous employees, you are yet another local business that has lost my business to the gleefully ignorant, narcissistic and unable-to-count-back-change young employee...
Read moreFirst, I would like to thank the cashier that complimented my autumn look right as my daughter and I walked into the store. It was very kind of her and shows that she is probably exceptional at customer service.
Now down to my two star rating. My daughter and I walked over to Murdock's just to look around while waiting for som prescriptions to be filled next door at King Soopers. I have used Murdock's to buy chicks, animal supplies, yard supplies, and clothing for years. However, I was never blatantly treated like a criminal until today.
As I said, we were just browsing, and actually I found a great pair of jeans for $85 that I was planning on coming back to purchase. Unfortunately, that will not be happening because of the way we were treated today.
As we were browsing, we found the store kitty. We thought there might be another one in the store, so I asked a woman, who I can only guess is some kind of supervisor, if there were any more cats in the store. She harshly told me there is only one followed by "are you looking for anything?" I told her we were just browsing. I began walking back to where my 12 year old daughter was in the toy area. All of a sudden I here this woman loudly say over her walkie talkie "security cameras on the toy section." Then she starts following us! I laughed because it was so ridiculous! I am a 40 year old woman browsing a store with my daughter, but apparently I need to be watched!
We left shortly after this, and as I said, we will not be coming back. I this the supervisor woman should take a lesson in customer service from the young lady at the cashier because you have lost a life...
Read moreSo my daughter and I went to Murdochs to pick out some cologne for me to wear during date night. When I walked up to their little glass cologne cabinet, it was open. So we started looking at The different colognes and smelling them. I noticed the Tumblr was loose and wasnât locking correctly on the cabinet. I pointed this out to a couple sales associates. Even told him if they had an adjustable wrench tighten up the Tumblr so they can market it properly. I chose the clone I wanted, but then the store employee said she had to walk it up to me, and I couldnât carry it upfront myself. That struck me as preposterous, because if I wanted to steal anything from that place, I had the perfect opportunity to wipe out the whole cologne cabinet without them knowing. The woman treating me like I would steal something from Murdochs, after offering to fix their cabinet, so it would probably lock was so very rude. But I probably shouldâve expected it provided. She had the Karen style haircut. I just management have a chat with their employees about how they treat on his customers, because I was really disappointed in it. I also looked at a gun I wanted to buy, but after that Karen and her experience, Iâll probably just buy it at...
