Based on the reviews and word of mouth from others, people are under the impression that this is the best place to go for sushi in the area. That is so far from the truth that I almost laughed while in the restaurant when I tried the food. This is better than grocery store sushi, but it is almost identical to sushi you can get across the street for 30% less of the price. No joke. This place is absurdly expensive for what you get and the quality. The prices aren't even comparable to the best places in Boulder. $7 for 2 pcs of Salmon Nigiri...that has to be a joke. $5 across the street and $5 in Boulder for the exact same sushi quality. I got a bento box with grilled shrimp, tempura shrimp, and a tuna avocado roll that was $35. Which is insanely overpriced. The shrimp wasn't really all that special, nor was the tempura. The tuna avocado roll is a standard $6 roll with nothing special about it as well. So really 4 grilled shrimp, 2 tempura shrimp and a $6 Tuna roll was $35. I did order some other rolls that were about $5 overpriced for what they were and they were also pretty standard I ended up taking half of them home and just throwing them away from lack of interest. The service is actually pretty good, we had 3 waiters serving us and getting our drinks confused but the food did come fast and we did have drinks refilled quickly at a 6pm setting on the weekend. The inside of the place is also pretty clean and organized and I did enjoy the atmosphere of the place. The tables were spaced pretty well and it wasn't overly loud for a full house. I don't think I will be back however because there just isn't a reason to. The food wasn't anything special and the prices are way too high when I can go across the street and get the exact same Sushi for way less.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. I have to admit: the look of the restaurant is not very appealing from the outside. I suggest the owner think about changing/upgrading it. That said, I LOVE the food! I came for lunch twice within two weeks and I don’t even go out for food usually. Being an Asian from a big city, it’s hard to find places I actually enjoy Asian food in Colorado tbh. And Japanese food especially, it’s rare it’s any good. But this place is legit. Also price is very reasonable. I also like the decor inside. It’s a very cute place with a good vibe. That’s why I suggest changing the outside- more people would come enjoy this place! I’d very much love to have this place stay open. So I’ll become a regular customer from now on anytime I need a Japanese food fix in town. Keep up the good work!

This place is amazing!! I have a local Loveland favorite sushi restaurant, but I've been to Longmont twice just to go to Sushi Hana. Evening is fresh and delicious as it should be. I got dessert this time, sesame balls with green tea ice cream, and it was perfection. The sesame balls were fresh, made to order with red bean curd, still warm and delicately crispy. So, so good. I shared the sushi and sashimi plate instead is getting individual rolls (which I normally do), but it was enough for two of us to be full. The sashimi plate had amazing, buttery fresh slices. Will definitely be back!

This review pains me to write.

I have been a customer of Sushi Hana for years and years, and have always loved them. My family eats there probably once every couple of months, and always bring friends and family there when they come to visit. The food is great and they have always been incredibly nice.

If all that is true, then why am I giving them only 2 stars? It’s due to a very bad experience with their online ordering system. Also, shame on me for not coming here to write a positive review before this experience, but that’s a discussion for another time.

I placed an enormous online order (around $250) for my daughter’s birthday party. They weren’t open when I placed the order so I used their online system (Menufy) because the restaurant opened at 5 and I wanted to pick up the order at 6. As soon as I put in the order it showed me that the order would be ready the NEXT day at 6 pm because they were going to be closed the day of my daughter’s birthday party. Obviously I didn’t need a $250 order the day after the party so I immediately tried to cancel the order. There was no option to cancel, and when I tried to call the restaurant there was no way to leave a message. I contacted Menufy and they said they would contact the restaurant and cancel the order.

The next day I figured I’d call them when they opened to make sure the order had been canceled. I was told by the restaurant that there was nothing they could do, and even though they were still in the process of making the food, they would not agree to cancel the order or even alter the order so that I just had to pay for what had already been made.

While I’ll accept that I was the person who made the original mistake, all they had to do was tell me that I’d have to pay for the food they’d already made before the restaurant had opened. I loved this restaurant so much for so long that I would’ve been happy to buy a hundred dollars or so worth of food even though I didn’t need even half that much, but nope. I ended up having to come in and pick up a $250 order of food that my family will be eating over the next week.

Super disappointed. I’m hoping the restaurant sees this order and fixes this issue for future customers. Get an answering machine and get an online ordering system that would AT LEAST allow an order to be cancelled with 12 (or hell, 24) hours notice.

For me, sadly, they lost me as a customer. Longmont has a LOT of great restaurants these days. I’ll go somewhere else from now on.

(12-15-22 Edit) Our family still eats here from time to time. I'm still a bit miffed about this one unhappy experience, but I don't let my disgruntlement keep us from appreciating the food. It really...

Maybe we showed up on a bad day for the restaurant, but my experience here was so disappointing that we actually had to walk out. Went here with my husband for a casual dinner date. They seated us right away, but it went straight downhill from there. We wait for 15 minutes before my husband flagged down a waitresses to ask for menus and waters. We ordered soups and sushi as soon as she brought us water. It took another 15 minutes to get our soups. They brought us both miso even though I had ordered a different soup. When I told her I did not order miso she said they were out of other soup and said to just try the miso because I would like it. Another 15 minutes goes by and I ask for a water refill. When she brought the water glass back, a customer sitting next to me informed me that she watched the waitress refill my water with a glass she had just cleared for a table. What!? That was the last time our waitress aklcknowled us. By the time we decided to leave we had been sitting at our table for over an hour with nothing but miso soup that we didn't order and water refilled from used glasses. My husband was not able to flag our waitress down and ended up having to go to the sushi bar to inform them we were leaving. When we left there were many people who were seated before us who still had not gotten their food either. We noticed lots of complaining and hungry unhappy customers the entire time we were there. I'm sure thier food is good, but I honestly can't rate it because we couldn't even try it. Won't be...
