For the last several years my family and I have been frequent eaters at the Royal Wok. The food was super delicious and well portioned! The customer service was super friendly and on point! We had a regular waiter, and he was always so nice. The last time we went (a few weeks ago) we saw that they moved location to the Asian Bistro. So, my kids and I got back in the car and went to the new location. The second we walked into the asian bistro we felt out of place. The lady came up and said, "Do you need something?" lol I said we were there to eat. She sat us down and handed us menus and walked away. We were ready pretty quickly because we knew what we wanted already. So, we put the menus together and we waited and waited, and she just was doing something at the register. Finally, the guy from the bar walked by and asked if we were ready and I said we were, so she came over and started taking our orders. She was very unfriendly. My older son said he would take a water and I told him it was okay to get a soda for lunch this time if he wants, well she looks at me and says "He wants water". Um ..ok.. So she finishes taking our drinks and walks away and i say "excuse me, sorry we are actually ready to order food too" and she comes back annoyed. So i start ordering our food and she says they dont do the chicken lo mein, egg roll, rice AND soup with the lunch special and i apologized and said that i thought it was the same as the royal wok. Again she gets annoyed and says "then you need royal wok menus" i didnt know you had to ask for a separate menu i thought it was combined. anyway this is getting really long. the rest of the visit was basically like this, her being super rude and ignoring us. Our food was SUPER cold by time we finally did get it. It is so disappointing. Our favorite restaurant is now somewhere we will never go again. my kids were super well behaved so you can't say it was because they were being disruptive or making a mess. I'm annoyingly too nice to speak up when people are rude so I still left a good tip but never going back again. Im leaving 3 stars because the Royal Wok deserved 5 but the asian bistro location it's at now...
Read moreWe got take out because our regular Asian Food restaurant (Tasty Asia) was closed (Monday night), We used to go to the Royal Wok a long time ago and enjoyed it. It took me a while to find the new location because it does not identify as the Royal Wok until you see the small sign posts at ground level near the entrance. The lit up signs are for some other restaurant and some of the lights were out. When I finally got to go inside to pick up, it took about 5 minutes to be served in spite of the fact that the server saw me enter. She was serving the only occupied table but had plenty of time to excuse herself and help me for 30 seconds. The guy at the bar saw me but ignored me. There were two guys near the kitchen partition and it took the 5 minutes for one of them to come over and serve me. The egg rolls were mushy and had little taste. The Mongolian beef had zero green onions and zero flavor (for a spicy dish!! - not zero spice, but zero taste - even my dog had to think about it for a long time before she would eat it.) The dish had mushy meat and onions - that's all! My wife had Beef with Broccoli and did not like it. My dog had almost all of my dish (less the onions). Very disappointed and will never return. The tip was a waste - it should have been zero. I really wish I had checked the other reviews before ordering. They almost...
Read moreThe chinese here is fairly decent, although it has changed in flavor of the same dishes over the years and some of them have begun to go downhill or are just mostly bland. In terms of portions if you order something with seafood you can expect to get mostly vegetables with a few shrimp. The last Kung Pao Shrimp I ordered I only got 4 shrimp with about a pound of vegetables, so it really wasn't worth the price. Majority of the dishes seem to be that way as of late. Majority of their appetizers are very good, and the pu pu platter is something we order almost every time with everything it comes with being pretty good. As far as service goes, I would say there is great room for improvement as the service is usually pretty hostile in a sense and they get angry if you need to omit an ingredient for food allergy which is pretty unfortunate. Then even if they agree there is a good chance you'll get it anyways and your entire meal is inedible. Pricing is pretty decent if not batter than most places so that is a major advantage and thusly you can expect to wait if you try to eat here around dinner time as it will be packed. Overall having eaten here sparingly over the last decade this being one of the better options of chinese there are better ones in the area to go to with better food...
