Last August we purchased 4 pieces of the Stressless Ekorne furniture that we had been saving for. We received two of the pieces late Jan of this year and the last two pieces in late March. Two Max recliners and two Mary recliner couch pieces. Within weeks the backs and seats were giving away and leather was looking years old. I called and after several back and forth conversations with Jaime the customer Svc Mgr she had Michael Slone call me. It was a very unpleasant call when he said “you seem to have high expectations “……I nearly dropped the phone. Given that we spent nearly $13, 0000 I said you’re damn right I have high expectations. He did come to the house that day without notice to see the furniture. It felt very accusatory and he said that this is how the Stressless furniture is. We had it before it was not poorly made. He agreed to replace two seats and basically said they would not do anything else. The seats were replaced in May this year. I wrote a long letter to Slone Furniture as well as the corporate offices in Norway. Literally crickets from Slone and a complete brush off from Ekorne.
This furniture is awful. The blue leather and dark teak we picked is beautiful. That’s it. The furniture is NOT holding up. There is zero lumbar support. You can feel the wood framing in the arms and seats. I have never ever spent this kind of money on furniture. We loved the look and the quality years ago. If you like the look of this furniture just for show, it’s for you. If you want to use the furniture on a daily basis, it’s not for you.
There is no doubt they have seemingly cut corners on the manufacturing of Ekornes products. I should have gone back to Laz-Boy and Haverty’s where we’ve always received incredible products and service. Slone and Ekorne have washed their hands of us. There is a supposed warranty against manufacturing but both companies put blame on the other…….so the “year warranty” really doesn’t exist. I would not recommend buying anything from Slone Brothers based on our...
Read moreBeware!!!!! I don't even know where to begin. This was the worst experience ever. The very worst , you go to what you think is a nice furniture store and get shown some furniture and then about the last piece of furniture they show you, which is not what you're really looking for , but looks nice from the front as you can see in store ad and their floor showroom .Then when you get it home, the side which had a stain and was not in sight at the store because they had another chair beside it...has a stain on it that almost looks like something rubbed off on it and your pretty upset. Then you call back to the store and Victor our salesman says he'll call us on Monday. This is on Friday. He puts us off Saturday and Sunday and then he never calls us on Monday. What he does is have his boss Louis Sloan contact us via emails, wanting more pictures after we already sent pictures to Victor. So we oblige Louis and send the dublicate photo , then he tells us he's not doing nothing for us, he states AS IS! Victor never mention not one time during the sale, "as is" When we made the phone call to Victor on Friday about the stain he told us not to try to clean it , but hold off till Monday.. We payed alota money for a piece of furniture that has a stain on the side of it. They never even offered to remove the stain or reduce the price.Just flat out told us "AS IS".. I would advise never ever to buy off of these people... they may have been good in their day, but obviously they're slacking, hurting for money or something cause they don't even want to help us and there is another review I saw which brought them down review star wise and it also had to do with Louis. I would stay away from them. Louis is very errogant , our salesman, Victor was nice, but still lied about calling us back, instead had the owner (louis Sloan) email us. I'd like to reiterate the other sad customer who paid big bucks as us , stated on his review .."Hows that working for you" I will refer to Louis as...
Read moreWe just bought a coffee table and an end table from these guys. The pieces are beautiful, though expensive. We dropped over $1000 for the two pieces. Everyone was very nice along the way, but when it was time to pick the tables up, the guys at the warehouse accidentally scratched our bumper as they were loading them into our SUV. I later reported this to our sales person who then forwarded the message on to the owners. It wasn’t my intention to get anyone in trouble here. I simply wanted to report the situation and hoped someone at Slone Brothers would make an effort to make it right. This is where my one star rating comes in. Instead of any kind of genuine apology or an attempt to solve this situation, I was given a cold response that they are not responsible and he even accused me of staging the damage in the pictures I sent them. There was no staging. I was simply trying to report an incident to try to make the situation better, and did so 100% truthfully. Not only did they do nothing to solve this situation, or even give a genuine apology for the damaged they caused, they accused me of staging the whole thing! This left me as an extremely unsatisfied customer. This was my first purchase with Slone Brothers, and because it ended so horribly, it will be my last. They don’t seem to care about their customers. Save your money. Shop...
