Absolutely LOVE Boney Island! I've been going since it was just a display in front of the owner's house! I love the attention to detail, the interactive bits, and all the sights and sounds. It's fun for the whole family! Older adults may not enjoy it as much as kids, but I'm 26 and I still love it and go every year. I love all the photo ops! First several pics are from this year (2024) and the last one is from 2015 of my siblings! They've added so much over the years, it's very impressive.

So. Many. Kids. I know this is for all ages, but the sheer number of kids running around made it unenjoyable and a constant risk to make sure you didn't trip over them. The confirmation email directs you to the blue lot, but there's concerts and you're stuck in never ending traffic, just to be directed out and all the way around to the parking garage for the museum (which is unmarked). The displays are cute, but frankly it isn't worth all of the above mentioned hassle.

Truthfully, this wasn't totally what I expected. Yes there were a lot of cool skeleton setups and it was all really pretty once it got dark but other than that I feel mislead. Before purchasing the tickets, I got a pop up that said that the museum would showcase "real fossils, live animal presentations, trick-or-treating" and I really saw none of that. No live animals, no fossils (except maybe one), and no candy. I even walked into the building where the "live animals" sign was and it was EMPTY. No staff and no sign that mentioned when it would start. The overall attraction was really short and there was little to see. We probably finished seeing everything within 10 minutes. The only other things that we could do was wait to watch the water show and grab some food. The water show was boring to watch, just one centered skeleton with a moving jaw and a background of singing pumpkins. The show was very short. We also only had two food truck options, which already had extremely shortened menus. Not only that, but one food truck did not sell any beverages. There were also very few chairs and tables in front of the water show. So most people had to stand, and if you were lucky to get a table, your view was blocked. Overall it was really expensive for such little you get. I mean, don't forget that boney island used to be something free to see if you went by the creators house. $25 tickets and $15-18 parking. The food was also about $25 per dish at both food trucks. I personally don't think it's worth it, it's better to take your kids around the neighborhood where they get to see more and...

A fun event for family. There is an excellent blend of cultural elements such as Van Gogh paintings and classical music (with Halloween songs too). NOT just ghouls, goblins and creepy crawlers. Several different photo opportunities throughout.

You also get traditional carnival displays such as Boney Theatre, Boney Magic, a garden of ghoulish flora and animals, a dark forest, foosh ball, magic and fortune tellers!

This attraction was moved from its home of 19 years in Studio City because of expenses. They have been able to expand it, including making wood displays for all exhibits, placing a group of musicians on tree branch with screen below of dancing skeletons, and more! The result is a renewed energy and hopefully a new tradition for Griffith Park.

Fantastic place, great fun and perfect...

This was very fun omg. I went with a couple friends because it was the only event we could find that we could arrive at 9pm for, and it was a blast. Very kid-oriented, so there's nothing really scary. The optical illusions and the lights are the best part (although I'm biased-- everyone who knows me will tell you how much I love optics). I'd definitely recommend going with friends-- it's a great way to spend an hour on Halloween night. Definitely more of a low-key event, which I prefer. If you have a kid who's interested in optical illusions and magic tricks, bring them here for sure. I know I would've loved it, had I lived here as a kid.

Oh, in terms of parking, the lot nearest to the museum was full, so we parked in the lot in the center of the Exposition Park. Signs directed us there....
