This is probably a great place if you have straight hair.

I have thick voluminous curly hair that I want to wear curly. Unfortunately, all the suggestions given to me were to chemically straighten my hair. And also recommended against thinning my hair which I absolutely need because I just have too much hair.

I should have probably opted out of the haircut after that during the consultation but I like to give the benefit of the doubt and there have been times in my past where I was pleasantly surprised by a cut even if it wasn’t what I asked for. Not the case here, my hair was trimmed and then straightened with a straightening iron and that’s really it. My mom even noted that I didn’t look like I even got a haircut. =/

I really wanted to like my haircut too. I enjoyed speaking with Nelson. He was very personable and philosophical with what he spoke about. I also liked his staff who were very kind and easy to talk to.

That’s why even though I didn’t get a great cut as a person with curly hair, I still give this place 3 stars. It’s very difficult to find someone to cut my hair so I can’t knock a place too much for not knowing what to do with it.

I just wanted to leave this review to warn others with hair like mine in case they want to wear it curly like I do. However, if you want to straighten it, Nelson had a lot of options like half straightening it so that the ends were curly, etc that might be something people are...

It was my first time to get an hair cut in here. The designer “Zion Cho” is, literally, the best. She is willing to ask and communicate with customer. If you have any question or opinion about your hair, feel free to talk. She is very professional and has a good work ethic. The place is cozy and chic. Staffs are also nice like their interior. You will be warm welcomed. They also have their own parking spot in the basement and it is not charged or valet!(yay) I have been to few other hair shops but almost all of them requires parking fee. Thank you If you wanna get a good hair cut but you have no idea, call this place and make an appointment with Zion. She has an answer so she will never let you down and worth it. Trust me.

Nelson will be my go-to place for the next year. Compare to any other hair shops I have been to, there is no disadvantage from them. In some aspects, they are better than them. While I was in there there their temperature and music were perfect. They will give you some good customer service experience. Have you ever got lavender scent cool shampoo? They do for you and they will ask you one another scent. If you wonder, go try them.

Zion of Nelson is the Best. I already recommend my sister to get her perm by Zion b/c I heard that Zion’s major is woman’s dyeing and perm.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had such a terrible experience at Hair by Nelson that I felt others should be warned. I had a reservation and arrived on time—actually, I was the first one there. But to my surprise, Nelson decided to take another customer who walked in after me. No explanation, no apology. What’s the point of having a reservation system if you’re just going to ignore it and prioritize others? Completely unprofessional and disrespectful of people’s time.

When it was finally my turn, things only got worse. I clearly explained the style I wanted and even showed photos, but Nelson either didn’t listen or didn’t know how to do it. He rushed through the cut without checking anything, and the result looked nothing like what I requested. It was uneven, messy, and honestly looked like it was done by someone still learning how to hold scissors.

And for that kind of poor service, I was charged a ridiculous amount. This place is severely overpriced considering the lack of skill and basic customer courtesy. It felt like he just wanted to get through the appointment as fast as possible and move on.

Overall, it was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I highly recommend you avoid this place. There are plenty of other salons where your time, money, and hair will be treated with...
