Okay here's the skinny... I'm staying in 1 of the apartments. Can I just Say how freaking cute cute cute my apartment is?? And I feel a sense of deep regret for the many places I've stayed that cost way more than this and had so much less. The decor in the room is not just cute but smart. Quite a few of the outlets have the USB and C option. Theres's a lamp in the living room that is so cute I'm trying to figure out how to stuff it in my purse. JK There's actually quite a few smart pieces that are super functional in the room. As always I took a bunch of pictures. I will put some links up because If you're like me, you see something cute... I wanna know where I can get it. These are not affiliate links so No bias. I don't know the owners of this hotel either. As soon as I walked in my room I immediately thought OK I wanna try and stay here until my Apartments ready like I don't wanna go anywhere else. I've tried to make fun of the whole hotel tour I've been on perpetually waiting for my new apartment since January. But at this point I found the spot I want go there from.
So , as mentioned by another reviewer , there's constant renovation going on. I can tell you that my room is right by the parking lot ground floor and it has not bothering me at all. Everybody is very respectful Including the workers. I, too not a fan of the parking fees. So, i've just decided to Take a stand on it and not pay & park on the street instead. I ran into this at the last place as well And the one before etc. One place I loved had 50$ day valet.š¤¢š¤® So we had to break up.𤣠The lady at the front desk has been a good negotiator & we've been able price match (As you know, the rates for rooms go up towards the end of the week and then cycle back down again on Monday.) The housekeepers are super nice. My room was completely spotless. And when they came To clean It smelled clean & fresh. And yes, I remembered the gratuity.
There is a security guard posted up pretty much right in front of my unit. So I've been lucky enough to be able to park my electric bike right in front of my room . šš I will of course, post some pictures. But here are the things that are my favorite in the room. The keurig machine with the blonde roast starbucks k cups, The nice new 65 in samsung Smart TV The Super cute Modular with the Prestige by Unique Studio sized stove and oven. Hanging from hooks is all brand new pots and pans, Knife set, drying rack, single sink. Then I opened up the cabinet and My favorite thing is Nostalgia Electric Ketro series retro wave microwave In my favorite retro Pale turquoise color. I love the pendant Drop lighting by the bed and the faux headboard. The bathroom mirror lights up and also has a Defrost button So no fogg mirror after a lot shower. Instead of an iron, there is a steamer/ brush combination, a modular Closet organizer. I'm definitely gonna include links to these things. Because I hope as places read the reviews. They read reviews about other places as well checking out the competition. None of this is over the top expensive. It's just well-thought-out. The nice laminate floors & a throw rug = bye bye carpets that hold odors and grossness. One of the SmartThings that they've done here is provided a broom & a dust Pan, a brand new broom in dust. Even though I hate brooms Because they hold grossness This was brand new. The only thing I would do differently is what I've seen in other places. Is put a deskbuster type thing on the wall for quick little spills . I thought it was also very smart to include a toilet brush and a plunger. Every hotel room should have one. They are doing the outside with a very nice tile that's colorful and attractive. And in the process of remodeling there little patio smoking area between here and the main lobby. A matching Frigidaire retro Apartment size refrigerator is perfect. I like the light in the speaker combination on desk in Bedroom. I'm not a fan of the couch either as far as slide outs go but i'm sure they'll Try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTruly this was a surprisingly bad hotel experience. Iām giving one extra star because I didnāt have high expectations to begin with. Iām not a picky person, seriously Iāve stayed in some hostels that are a special brand of grimy, but this was a hotel and it wasnāt $20/night.
The basics of the room were not great- the paint was peeling, carpet had that damp dirty feel, towels smelled like bleach (I worried for my skin) but it was fine. The AC was off and the room was 80 degrees, so we turned it on and it got pretty cool after a while (down to maybe 70). We tried to get a rollaway bed, or some extra blankets and towels. The staff really didnāt seem to want to help us with this, citing the maintenance man was not available. I guess there are literally no extra blankets or towels?? We booked the room for 4 guests and were given 2 towels. Brilliant.
Overnight that first night, the temperature in the room climbed to 80+ degrees, despite the fact the thermostat was set to 70 the entire time. The next morning we had to shut it on and off a few times to get it back on and start cooling again. When we returned that afternoon, despite having left the thermostat at 60 for good measure, it was 78 in the room and within minutes climbed to 81. It was really hot, and when we asked the staff what was the deal, they just said āOh yeah a technician is coming to look at it.ā I never saw a technician. We had to continually do the on/off thing and set the thermostat to like 40 to get it to run. Even so, occasionally it would just choose to climb to 80 degrees. I think they may have had an automatic shut-off function to keep it running too long. We should be able to cool off in our room during a heat wave.
The breakfast was negligible- toast, eggs and hash browns were fine. The eggs and hash browns were literally always cold, the milk was always a little sour. We saw small beetles or bugs of some kind crawling over the outside of the bread box, so I did not eat any bread. Going along those lines, we were woken up by roaches crawling on the walls near our face. I kid you not.
We stayed from Wednesday night to Sunday night, and we needed a rollaway bed or at LEAST extra blankets from Wednesday night through Saturday. We finally got a trash bag filled with blankets and a giant rollaway bed that wouldnāt fit past the entry way on Saturday night. I donāt understand why it took like 4 days for this. The staff just gave us the runaround the whole time.
I am giving the second star mostly because I had low expectations, and because the location was really convenient and there was plenty of parking onsite. We were able to explore Koreatown a lot due to the location of the hotel. That being said, I would probably have a more comfortable and clean experience if I just sleep in my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff was highly incompetent and rude, there was a LIVE ROACH in our room, bugs crawling over the free breakfast, and the AC didn't work. The staff had a very, very difficult time figuring out how to get us a rollaway bed. Upon asking, multiple times the receptionist Justin would throw his face in his hands and say, " ugh, why do you guys ask me this?" On day 3 of asking for a bed, they said, " well, you should really be calling early in the morning to request one". We did at 5 -6am and no one responded. We were only in town to work and were out the door by 7 -9 am. They also flat out refused to give us any extra blankets or pillows, citing the "maintenance man" being gone for the night. Why does he take the key with him? Why can no one else at a hotel retrieve a blanket? They cited being is a "difficult position" to try and give us a rollaway bed due to high capacity guests at the hotel. The lobby was empty every time we left and returned. They charged us $15 for the rollaway bed that was actually too big to even fit in our room, and also charged us to hold our luggage while we killed a couple hours before our flight- $5 per bag. Overall, the rudest staff topped off with live bugs and AC that didn't work while it was 112 in Los Angeles will have us never return. EDIT: Forgot another unpleasant situation. The shower head is the kind of wand that you can remove and hold in your hand. On day 3, I went to shower and turn the shower head out of my way while the water warmed up. When I went to move it to the side, I felt a jolting feeling. When I let go of the shower head, it completely fell and almost hit me in the head. The piece that holds the shower head completely split, so for the rest of the trip we had to hold the head. Not the worst, but the hotel is horribly unaware of how badly their rooms...
