PLEASE READ BEFORE VISITING THIS STORE. I rarely make reviews but I need to this time to save everyone from visiting this morally corrupt store. We came in today to buy a cake for our friend’s birthday. Upon the very first bite, we all said it was the worst cake we’ve ever had. We laughed about it because we thought it was just a bad baker. However, one of our friends who owns a dessert store and frequently sells cakes said after his first bite that the cake was made at least 2 days ago, probably more than 3. It is not because the baker was bad but that the store sold us cake that they couldn’t have sold earlier. The cake is of horrible quantity, and if it weren’t for our friend, we would never know it’s because this cake is not fresh. I would be ok if they’re not good bakers, but selling us a cake from 3 days ago is not okay. Our baker friend mentioned that it is unsafe to eat a cake from that long ago, and they always throw it out or give it to some friend before it went badly at their store. I am very angry about this and I think it needs to be mentioned somewhere. I don’t know where all the good comments are coming from. This is obviously a very morally corrupt store. I would not even keep a cake I make in the fridge for that long. I would not give it to someone for free. I would consider it unsafe. I would not be surprised if someone got stomach pain because of it. They had many other ways of dealing with this outdated cake, but they chose to sell it to us without mentioning anything about the date it was made. Full price. Trust me, don’t go to this store. Everything went straight into the garbage can after our first bite. Obviously not going to risk our health...
Read moreI got the sausage croquette, injeolmi cream bread, chocolate croissant, and a soboro injeolmi with red bean (not sure if these are the specific names). I was honestly let down for everything because I could only take 2 bites of each until it became too heavy/ rich/ greasy for me. The sausage croquette was stale but it was still greasy. They should invest in a heating lamp or offer to heat it up. The bread itself with injeolmi was super bomb (the bread isn't dense and it has a fantastic texture), but the cream makes it unpalatable after a couple bites. The richness and sweetness from the cream makes it harder for me to go on. The chocolate croissant was honestly the best one I had, but the outer shell of chocolate had a distinct flavor that didn't taste like the chocolate inside the croissant. The outer shell tasted like the baking chips you would use to coat a cake pop or something, kinda fake tasting. The soboro injeolmi had so much potential, but they need to balance the sweetness of the red bean with the rest of the bread. It was too sweet right off the bat.
I didn't eat these all in one sitting/ day. This was over a period of time since my first visit which was last year. The employees were super nice, but this wouldn't be a bakery that I would...
Read moreAfter a car wash, I was starving and found this random Korean bakery. I'm used to Paris Baguette, Tous Le Jour, or Cake House (the ones attached to a Korean grocery store) but definitely will come here again.
First of all, they are more focused on various types of bread and cookies which I liked. Also, they had plenty of different sizes and price points from $3 to $8 (loaf of bread). The ones on display at the checkout were interesting, like the green onion cheese on a whole loaf of bread cut open in various pieces. Additionally, will definitely come back to try their clam chowder in a bread bowl. Finally, they do have whole cakes and fruit cream sandwiches (Korean/Japanese style).
The atmosphere is cozy and clean. The lady running the store was so nice and its clearly marked what type of bread is their special like their olive croissant and black sesame croissant. There is also a seating area outside attached to the bakery.
I didn't even try their drinks yet, which also...
