8th & Ardmore Hostel — Hotel in Los Angeles

I stayed at 8th and Ardmore and I have to say it was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Very comfortable , very clean , friendly environment and very convenient. Anyone coming to the Los Angeles area this is the place that you would love to stay at and what makes the place so great is that it’s more like a resort than a hostel. They have car service , 24 hour concierge, everything’s on video camera and it’s a gated estate. They also have a full size gourmet kitchen with available private chef's , private sweat , washer and dryer round the clock security and a on call professional celebrity hair stylist. The main man james is one of the most honest , caring land lords I’ve ever seen along with the house manager JG who available 24hours a day which he also gave me his personal number to make sure I was happy safe and comfortable. I've stayed in this place twice and had the same terrible experience 4 years apart! This property has nobody in charge on site. So, nobody really cares about the rules. I stayed in a room with 4 other females, two of them -I guess related - were selfish and inconsiderate. Used the entire public restroom for themselves and had us locked out waiting for almost an hour. Kept making noise and refused to switch off the lights even after the quiet hours, disregarding the rules. Why obey the rules when the manager doesn't even exist?

The place smelled like fried fish all the time. I had to cover my head to make it less terrible sleeping at night. It was also hot. The room had no chairs, the fridge smelled terribly, the lockers were too small and had no locks, the restrooms were terribly dirty, and people left their personal belongings there. Terrible...

This was my first time staying at a hostel and i was travelling alone so i didn't know what to expect. They made self check in surprisingly easy and everything was already set and ready for me. The people in my room were very to themselves and didn't have a huge mess, although they did make it hard for me to climb up the bunk bed since ladder was at the very corner. I also found out the second night that they had taken my pillow and blanket that was provided so i had to take one from unused bed. Staff didn't tell me about that so I assumed i only had an empty bed. Bathrooms and cleaning staff was very good so no complaints there. Kitchen was also very clean most of the time i went there. Overall great little hostel to be at for the price, just depends on who you room with because that's were most of my complaints were at. Will come again if i need a...
