I'm leaving my intial review, because I think my updated review will have more impact this way. I was until last night a regular at this place for the past 6 months, since I found it after finding 45 minute waits at my regular places and was too hungry to wait. I loved this place. I told everyone about it. But what a difference a day can make. They refused me service. Yes, really. I showed up at 8:45 and the place was not busy on a Friday. They had most tables open. I asked to be seated and they showed me a table in the middle, I did not like because it was in front of the door. I asked for the table in the back-side. The Hostess/waitress/manger/whoever, then told me they close at 9 and they aren't seating anymore tables. They actually close at 10. I've been there late, probably after 10. I accepted their decision and had a pleasant meal at Road To Soul. I can't keep up a 5 Star rating for a restaurant that refused me service so now it's a 1 star and the friend I was with gave them 1 star, on Yelp. I am so personally hurt by this experience. A great restaurant has fallen. This Old Review no longer true: "Amazing Bon-Chon. Great value. Good food. All this for $52.00 American....

Country home style, unapologetically simple but unmistakable well prepared food. Even their banchan is unconventional. 2~3types of namul is always served, and chayote muchim is always served. The owner does not waste the cabage cores & lettuce cores, and makes muchim & picked banchan, too. Bindaedduk is excellent. She makes 50 boxes of kimchee every 3 months for the Tong (uncut) porkbelly kimchee chigae. This chigae looks very simple, but it's the simplicity of good porkbelly and homemade kimchee that makes the difference!. The next amazing flavor with just two main ingredients is porkbelly & tofu chigae. This chiggers base flavor is gochujang, gochugaru (I think), lots of large green onions, and onions. Porkbelky is not cooked to death, so the texture is still nice & chewy. Their grilled over fire mackerel is the best I've ever had. Really fresh and good large size. Next item that'll kick your taste buds is spinach & clam doenjangguk. It's a large bowl of spinach soup with clamps & young spinach. Never over cooked and light, you'll be surprised to taste all three ingredients all at once. This place is a...

Came here over the weekend because I had some relatives visiting from Korea. Food was alright, not great, but also not the worst. Experience was terrible. asked one of the servers if side dish refills were free (saw on here that they charge for side dish refills (what kind of Korean restaurant does that???). The server reluctantly said they would not charge for side dish refills. -people were smoking outside the entrance and tick cigarette smoke was wafting into our area next to the door so I closed it a few times and the server snapped at me demanding to know why I kept closing the door. -they charged us for takeaway containers (which is fine) but after we closed out the bill and discovered that we needed 2 extra containers, the server wanted to charge us again for the containers. Like seriously? I just spent $350+ here and you're going to nickel-and-dime me for a to-go container? Brought this up to the server as well and she basically screamed at us demanding we pay for the containers.

Won't come back. Can get better food and...

Amazing experience! Everything we ordered was delicious, full of authentic Korean flavors. The staff were kind and very helpful, and they even have an English menu for easy ordering. Prices seem high at first, but portions are huge. We went as a group of five, and with tip, it was $38 per person, great value for the quality and quantity. They charge for to-go boxes, but I understand that everything has a cost, so I don’t mind. Delicious food, great service, and worth every penny. Definitely coming back! 😊

There were a lot of people saying that the staff is unkind but I thought they were very polite. I think the problem for most people is that they don't speak English. I speak Korean so I had no issues at all. Also, most of the menu is not translated into English. If you have a Korean friend, make sure to bring them with you.
