DO NOT BUY A HAT FROM THIS PLACE ON LINE! I purchased two identical hats from this place. One fits and the other is at least a size or two too small. I contacted the shop immediately upon receipt of the hats. When I called the shop to arrange for an exchange, the girl there quickly tells you that she cannot approve exchanges or returns and I have to speak to Sal the owner (who apparently is seldom in the shop). She then gives me the owners email address (but no phone number when I asked), and after four or five emails and four phone calls to the shop, Sal finally responded to an email saying that he will check his inventory and that he’s sorry it didn’t fit. After following up with several more emails, all communications went dead.

I got the feeling that he was trying to wind the clock down until he could tell me it was too late to do a return or exchange. All I wanted as an exchange!!! This place has no regard for Customer Service and is certainly not interested in any repeat business.

If you need to buy a hat online, I can highly recommend several other shops that i’ve purchased from in the past and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Try Salmagundi in Boston, JJ Hat Center in New York, Holland hats in Connecticut, or the Village Hat shop.

If you purchase from Hollywood Hatters online and have any minor issue with your hat, REMEMBER THAT YOU WERE WARNED!!!

I found this place on Google. I was looking for a stylish hat to accent my attire for the holidays. It appears to be a larger store from photos when actually ; it is rather small & cramped. There are shelves of several hats & caps of all sorts of colors, designs ,styles & and fabrics. Sal, who is the proprietor of this place, was very helpful . He was by himself that night attending to customers & his sales assistant was not in, so I had to be rather patient to acquire his assistance while he tended to other customers. I did find this place to be rather expensive, $$$ with items starting from like $90.00 on up. I did, however, find the hat I was looking for, which was a nice, stylish fedora. It had a nice camel finish. It was felt with silk inner lining. I felt good & looked 😌 👌 & I was happy that Sal recommended this item 👌. It was my gift 🎁 from Santa. The worst experience I had in a shop. The shop assistant didn’t help at all. He was just sitting in front of the register using his mobile phone.

When I asked for help as I was looking for a simple brown hat he gave me a dusty dirty one and come back and sit down on his chair. I asked for a new one or a way to clean it up he said “no” you clean it.

I let that go and I went and pick another model. My size wasn’t available them I asked again for help and he said “ You can’t be so picky with hats”

After this I left really frustrated as this guy was a totally jackass. Needless to said all the bad words we interchange.
