We had the pleasure of going to Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens last night. It was such a nice experience. The care and love put into all of the details show. From the outside it looks like a small restaurant. But when you walk in, you walk past the kitchen, and then, wow. The place just opens up. The décor is so well done. The wall of roses and lights. The drapes on the ceiling and walls, paint schemes, tile work and nick knacks work so well to make you feel comfortable. And the owners are just as wonderful. So friendly, you feel like family.
There was a Prix Fixe menu that really included everything. But as we do not eat that much, we went with Scallops Pastilla and Chicken Tagine. As well as some Baklava for dessert. We were brought bread with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping as well as some Kalamata olives. The bread was so soft on the inside and a bit of crust that gave just a bit of resistance. The olives were one of the highlights. They were so good. Not overly seasoned, but so much flavor. The Pastilla came out and was fresh from the oven. Hot and crispy. There is some lemon to squeeze on to the scallops, it was delightful. The scallops were juicy and not overcooked, the seasoning was not overpowering. We cleaned the plate. Then came the Chicken Tagine. It was a good size breast and wing, that was so tender it just fell off of the bone. It was so flavorful. The vegetables that came with the chicken were a great accompaniment. As was the bread that came with it. We (I) decided to get some Baklava for dessert. Not overly sweet like some are. It was not dripping in honey, but you could taste it! Good size pieces that took a couple of bites to finish. Highly recommended.
We will definitely be back. We were so comfortable from the second we walked in through the front door. There is parking in the area, and there may be parking right in front, but it was full when we went. Come with an appetite and expect to be pleased with a great meal and...

Casablanca in Los Angeles is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Moroccan dining experience unlike any other. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in the warm and vibrant ambiance reminiscent of a traditional Moroccan riad. The decor, with its intricate tiles, colorful lanterns, and rich textiles, immediately transports you to the streets of Casablanca.
The menu is a delightful exploration of Moroccan cuisine, featuring a wide array of dishes that showcase the country’s rich culinary heritage. The tagines are particularly outstanding, with the lamb tagine being a standout—perfectly tender meat, simmered with a fragrant blend of spices, dried fruits, and nuts. The couscous dishes are equally impressive, light and fluffy, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
The service at Casablanca is exceptional. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They are more than happy to guide you through the menu and make recommendations based on your preferences.
One cannot leave without trying their Moroccan mint tea, which is a perfect way to end a meal. It’s served with such care and tradition that it feels like a small ceremony, and the flavors are wonderfully refreshing.
Casablanca is not just a meal; it’s an experience. Read moreFriday nights in LA is a nightmare especially if you're worn out and hungry. This wasn't the case for us when we discovered Casablanca. We did our mighty search on Google and called ahead before coming in. We were accomodated to a table right away even if the whole restaurant was packed and busy. A+ for the service!
The ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and traditional. They do not serve alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own drinks. They will even serve it and pour it for you because having cans or bottles of alcohol is not allowed on the table.
We started our meal with a teapot of Moroccan Mint Tea which is now my new favorite. My Moroccan boyfriend always raves about it and now I know why. We came as a group of three and we ordered two sets from their tasting menu which was pretty big in size for all of us.
After tea, we were served salads and sides. Everything came fresh and flavorful. The beets and carrots are my absolute favorite from all of the sides. They then served us the Seafood Pastilla and the Chicken Pastilla. The seafood was light and tangy, meanwhile the chicken was rich and sweet in taste. Both were very, very good! We ended the night with Chicken Couscous and Fish Tagine. At this point we were all very full that we ended up bringing leftovers home.
The whole dining experience was very special and worth remembering. We will make sure to spread the word about this place and hopefully bring our family next time.
Thank you to the very kind owners of the restaurant. My boyfriend really felt welcome and at...
