Bacon and chive khachapouri - 5 🌟!

Oui Melrose is a lovely, small bakery cafe close to the Melrose shopping area. I discovered them via social media and was very pleasantly surprised.

Their menu mixes American and I believe Georgian (European not US) cuisine. I was there for lunch and they clearly are loved because it was busy the entire time I was there.

I have never had a khachapouri before and was super happy with my first one. It reminded me of a cream based pasta on top of baked dough that resembles pizza dough. I'm not sure if these are a breakfast item but the fresh egg yolk and bacon give it a breakfast/brunch feel.

It was excellent. I went to the cafe to try the khachapouri but I was really tempted by a lot of their menu and their bakery items also looked impressive. Ever since we were first introduced to Oui, we’ve gone back every week... actually multiple times a week! It has become a staple in our house. This is by far one of my favorite LA restaurants. Everything they make is the best version I’ve had of that food. The quiche is unreal, every sandwich is delicious (smoked mozzarella is my personal favorite - sooooo good!), they have the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had (and I’m crazy for cookies), and every pastry is unbelievable. There’s not one thing we’ve tried and haven’t liked and that’s so hard to find with restaurants. I didn’t think I liked muffins until I tried their version, and it was life changing! The people working there are so friendly and helpful. Overall, I can’t say enough good stuff about Oui. You need to try this place - you are going to LOVE IT SO MUCH! Ordered the cheesesteak sandwich and the burger with garlic fries, through grubhub. In the instructions I put “No Mushrooms in the cheesesteak”

They did not follow the instructions and I feel like I had more mushrooms than meat. After picking out all the mushrooms I took a bite and I have to say it was absolutely disgusting. I will usually eat anything but this was so bad i ended up ordering from somewhere else. This is listed on yelp as a popular item…I have no idea why!

The burger my wife ordered was o.k at best. Another “popular” item on yelp. In n out is way better than their burger, and a lot cheaper.

The garlic fries were not cooked, and it’s like they put 5 crushed up garlic on top, which also wasnt cooked, it was raw. Just an overall terrible experience.
