Deceptive and possibly illegal business practices. Management being horrible is an understatement. My girlfriend and I both feel fortunate that our lease fell apart.
We were told, āThe 2-month free discount was only for our studio floor plans. As of today, 6/27/24, our special has changed to only one month free when you sign a 13-18 month lease term on all available floor plans.ā As of the date of that email, we had not signed nor been presented with a lease. This "promotion" most certainly would have apply to us as we had not signed our 18 month lease yet.
When we applied to lease the 2-bedroom loft, we were accepted, and a lease was sent to us. We noticed the 1-month ($6,000) discount was not included in the lease. Management then told us it was not valid for our unit, even though they previously said otherwise. When we pointed this out and mentioned it was not ethically or legally correct to change the terms, we were essentially told to take it or leave it. They offered a refund for our deposit, and we accepted. As of the writing of this review, we have yet to receive our deposit back. I should note the unit has been vacant since January 2024. It seems odd to play games with an 800-credit tenant willing to sign an 18-month lease over a one-month concession. I guess this is what you get with self-management.
For what it is worth, the property is indeed beautiful, and the units are spacious. What worries me is how much help you would get if something were to go wrong. Best to stay away and find a better-managed place.

This week, I was reminded how much theyāre focused on that experience when I had an issue with the AC in the apartment and Nelson, the buildingās maintenance lead, responded quickly, provided a portable AC unit to me when we had to wait for a repair, and constantly checked-in to update me on progress. When in the apartment he was exceptionally aware of how important it was to communicate, educate and help me define expectations. I wanted to take a moment to recognize his professionalism, thoughtfulness, skill and āas I mentioned ā communications ability. I honestly believe that his customer service philosophy is one that would change how others in customer service fields would respond if we could only package his approach and sell it to them. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Mansfield has been an amazing home for this past year and a half. Speaking to my experience - I have always felt safe and very welcomed here. Management has been very responsive to requests - special shout out to Marquis! The amenities are very well taken care of & I especially am a huge fan of the pool - which is great for lap swimming and sunbathing. If you have a dog (or TWO) they will love it here as well. I have met some of the MOST AMAZING pet parents here that I can now call friends - so grateful for this.
Lastly, +1 to the other reviews re noise - in my case it helped getting to know my neighbor, when music was too loud coming from next door, we would text each other to communicate that and adjust. This only happened once in a while. Otherwise things were very quite, which was great, given that my Unit faced the Pool...
