Let me start with saying I love Número Uno Pizza and first time I tried it was after school 1 time, when they had a spot on Carson St and Woodruff Ave. I know they are all privately owned franchises and I had been to this location twice before, now I live in downtown Long Beach, so if you know I’m 28 miles away. My family and I went to get some pizza then go home and eat. Got in, placed my order, 2 large, 2 toppings and 1 personal size cheese pizza, total $48.XX. Placed my order on Christmas at 7:31 pm. Guy and girl working at that time, guy said give me 20-25 minutes for your order, I said cool!! 30-35 minutes later I asked about my order, guy said it’s the busiest day of the year, I said since your taking longer, may I please use your restroom? He said, NO, because of Covid, I said you shouldn’t have told me 20-25 minutes, he said, he has a bunch of orders in front of me. I decided to wait a little longer, then 45-50 minutes in, I asked about my order, the guy said, we still have 1 more large pizza to go, it’ll be out soon. I thought to myself, 1 hour?? No way!! Plus I saw the guy go to the restroom and not sure if we would get tainted food so I decided to cancel my order, and the woman canceled my transaction, but did it sarcastically and seemed like she had an attitude, but with a weird smile. I thought to myself, never again!! That’s why the guy who had a Número uno in Torrance, then Redondo Beach, then Lawndale I can’t stand his bad customer service and even thought it’s the closest to my home, 15 miles or so, I don’t go buy food there. I wasted my time, I’ll never get that back, and I am such a loyal customer, I even refer so many people everywhere I eat. So disappointed!!...
Read moreThis entire review should be approached with the following note: I'm from New York. I ate a metric ton of Italian food growing up.
So I was in the mood for Italian food recently, and since Numbero Uno is close by, well, bingo bango.
I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken (pictured), and the pizza bread (not pictured).
Service: good. Was ready within a minute of when I arrived. Staff was kind.
Food: this is a preference thing, but I'm not a huge fan of the chunky sauce that Numero Uno uses. It doesn't have to be a puree but I'd like some smoothness.
The pizza bread was ok. It tasted like something I could have made at home - and I'm not Italian. Just sauce on a split Italian bread with mozzarella cheese on top. Would make a good snack.
The fettuccine with chicken had a good taste. The problem was that it's a little plain. You can see it in my picture. It's really just pasta, sauce, and chicken. No parsley. Feels like it's missing something. Especially because of the price.
Oh, the pasta came with garlic bread, which I enjoyed.
Overall, it's good, but...
Read moreI've seen this place for the last year since I always go to the Starbucks in the same small parking lot, and finally decided to give it a try. Had a craving for pizza as my meal before going out and drinking. You HAVE to fill your stomach or else you'll get a hangover. I also took my OHCap hangover pills to prevent me from getting one.
So this place actually doubles up as a Mexican restaurant as well. Got a large for myself which lasted 3-4 meals/snacks and can feed a small family which costs about $20.
It came out in about 20-30 mins. The pics you see in the photos are pretty accurate. I ordered combo with basically everything on it. It came out REALLY thick with a lot of white cheese on top. TBH it's a bit thicker than I like but I can see some people really enjoying it. The crust (and dough in general) had a bit of a cornbread-like texture/taste to it. Not bad overall, but not your standard pizza when you think of one. I might or might...
