White Memorial Hospital — Local services in Los Angeles

I’m a first time mom and I went to this hospital to give birth. I looked at the reviews to see if anyone had a similar experience to me and behold, another woman traumatized by a doctor during labor. During labor my epidural was not working and I was told “ I push better without it anyways” when I felt the pain, and I mean I felt everything while pushing the nurse told me that I’m a baby being a baby because I couldn’t handle the pain without meds. Later on the doctor had a passive aggressive comment which was “ we’re all mothers here, if we went through the pain so can you and how they didn’t want to be there for 4 hours rushing me to go through labor.

While I was pushing feeling the worst pain of my life after begging for more medication they just told me to keep pushing and I was yelling that I felt like my lower area was ripping apart. I screamed and said I couldn’t handle the pain and I was laughed at, and gossiped about during labor. When I went into a depressive state and cried they continued to laugh. When I asked why they were laughing at me they giggled and whispered.

When I asked a question about the stitches and numbing because the doctor didn’t feel the need to numb me and I requested to numb me .. which later she did. Her response was I did this for 30 years with an attitude. I felt so low during labor and I just wanted the pain to be over. Dr. Linda Sharp is calm, wonderful and intelligent. I do not know what I would have done without them. They were deliberate and methodical, leaving no stone unturned. I owe my life to them. Likewise, Dr. Angelo Jimenez is fantastic. They did an excellent job of being transparent and to-the-point. Trust is so important to me, and they delivered on every remark. Also, Dr. Alex Kramer did an excellent job of performing my medical procedure, and helped fast-track my recovery. Many thanks to them and their skill set. And then there is Alexanna, Marisol, Joseline, Lourdes, Daisy and Elizabeth, who treated me like a best friend. They kept me laughing and in good spirits, even when I felt hopeless. They are the best nurses I have ever encountered. Special thanks to Maribel, Mariposa, Lucky, Jessica and Maria, who were so polite and efficient with keeping me organized and free of greater infection. I have been to many hospitals in my life, but none like White Memorial Hospital. If you are wondering whether or not you should receive care at this facility, go. If you have family being admitted here, do not worry, they are in good hands. P.S. I was worried about coming here because the neighborhood seemed somewhat unkept, but the White Memorial building feels very new. Similarly, the rooms are modern and well-appointed, and the care is on par with Cedars Sinai. If I was ever in need of emergency care, I would ask to come here first. I used to come here and I would have a good experience but lately it has been beyond horrible. To start, I had a women's wellness appt with a Resident doctor Emily Macias. I arrived 15 mins before and still waiting 1 hour after the appt to be seen. Mind you, other people were also complaining about being seem that day. So upsetting I just canceled and went with another doctor and office, which was way much better (Highland Park location). Unfortunately, I have to have a follow up appt and can only have it here at this location but every time I call to schedule an appt the manager in charge Karina, is always too busy to speak or to schedule anything for me. The words from the staff was "she just got back from vacation so she needs some time to settle in." So I called the following day and the staff mentioned "she still has not gotten to the schedule for the month of August and we are not to sure when." This is my health we are talking about and I am trying my best to go to a follow up appt but this office and some of the staff is making impossible. I have never encountered a horrible experiencing like this. I do NOT recommend this location to anyone unless you are okay with the staff not following up or caring for your health.
