I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS STORE'S MANAGER ASHLEY!!! YESTERDAY I WORKED 9-8PM SO I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GO TO THE ACTUAL STORE. I CALLED THEM TO ASK IF THEY HAD ANY MINECRAFT SWORD OR PICKAXE IN STOCK. I WAS GOING TO BUY THEM FOR MY NEPHEW FOR HIS BIRTHDAY RIGHT AFTER I GET OFF WORK. I SPOKE WITH A WOMAN NAMED ASHLEY. I ASKED HER IF SHE CAN CHECK IN THE STORE IF THERE WERE ANY AROUND BC SHE HAD ALREADY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY WHEN SHE CHECKED ON HER COMPUTER. OF COURSE SHE SAID NO THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY.
SO I GET OFF WORK AND I GO STRAIGHT TO MY NEPHEWS HOUSE AND BREAK THE NEWS TO HIM THAT I WILL GET HIM A LATE GIFT. HE STARTED TO CRY AND IT BROKE MY HEART. MY COUSIN SAID WAIT WHICH GAME STOP DID YOU CALL. I TOLD HER I CALLED THE ONE IN LOWELL. SHE SAID I WAS THERE YESTERDAY THAT HAVE A LOT THAT'S WHY I TOLD YOU TO GO THERE TO GET IT.
NOW MY BF TAKES OFF TO THE STORE HIMSELF TO PHYSICALLY CHECK. AND HE COMES BACK WITH BOTH THE MINECRAFT SWORD AND PICKACE. NOW I'M FUMING BC THIS ASHLEY WOMAN LIED TO ME AFTER I ASKED HER TO CHECK THE STORE HERSELF.
SO I CALL THE STORE AGAIN AND I ASK TO SPEAK WITH THE MANAGER AND OF COURSE IT'S ASHLEY. I SAID "HEY I CALLED YOU NOT TO LONG AGO TO CHECK SOME OF THE MINDCRAFT ITEMS FOR ME, AND YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE SOME IN STOCK, BUT MY BF JUST LEFT THERE WITH BOTH THE ITEMS" HER RESPONSE WAS "OH I'M SORRY I CHECKED ONLINE AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY" I SAID "BUT I ALSO ASKED IF YOU CAN CHECK AROUND THE STORE" SHE SAID "I COULDN'T CHECK WE WERE TO BUSY WITH CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE"
HER RESPONSE THREW ME OFF THE WALL! I TOLD HER I WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE MYSELF. I WOULD NEVER DISMISS ANY OF MY CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT AND TO HAVE A TITLE OF A MANAGER. WOW BEYOND ME. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION OF THIS RIGHT AWAY SO IT DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. WOW UNREAL SHE WAS TO BUSY TO TAKE CARE OF ME. I CAN;T BELIEVE IT!!! Read moreEarlier today my friend went to the Plain st Game Stop in Lowell while i waited in the car. He purchased 5 Pokémon packs, the person who rang him out was very rude and negative, basically trying to talk him out of buying them. We went to target then came back so I can buy some, I collect them as well. When I went in I could instantly tell who he meant by the guy with the bad attitude. I asked him if he had anymore Pokémon cards for sale? He just pointed to ‘over there’ then went back to texting on his phone. He then shouted that he’s not going to sell me any because my ‘husband’ already came in and bought 5. Since that’s the limit per person, he can’t sell me anymore? I asked him what he was talking about , he said because he saw the car I got out of he knew the man I was with bought some earlier and he refuses to sell me any. When I asked him if he didn’t see me get out of that car would he sell me any ? He said yup. That it’s Game Stop regulations… he kept talking about my ‘husband’ how we go there and do this a lot.. we’ve been in that store TOGETHER maybe twice..? Unfortunately, I was met with reluctance and discomfort when making this request. This young man expressed concerns about theft and seemed hesitant to assist me solely based on my race. As a loyal customer, I was disappointed by this interaction and felt unfairly discriminated against as there were other nice white people he helped with ideally the same request before me.
I understand the importance of preventing theft in retail environments, but I believe that all customers should be treated with respect and provided with equal service regardless of their race or ethnicity. I trust that this behavior does not reflect the values of Gamestop as a company.
NO HATE but I kindly request that the management address this matter with the staff member involved and consider providing additional training on diversity and inclusivity in customer service.
