Hannaford — Local services in Lowell

This store has everything . excellent selection of produce at great prices and its quality. Market Basket produce goes rotten after one day. The chocolate chunk cookies are better than any store ever. MB doesn't even compare with the thin wafers they sell. Muffins are good all the way to the bottom. Excellent bakery. Deli is top notch, yes pricey but soooo worth it. Meat, excellent and it tastes and cooks great. They always put coupons on the meat and its not bad meat or gross looking, just normal but with a coupon. Every employee there is happy ,smiling, and saying hello. At MB, not one hello until you get to the inexperienced cashier. managers at MB put their head down when customers walk by. Dairy At Hannaford is cheaper by far than M B. And always put in the right spots. At M B I have to tell them that this is in the spot of what I want. Do you have it? Duh. I don't know. Can you check? No. Really? At Hannaford, if you ask for anything, they will bend over back wards for you. Prices are awesome there. I have no clue why people shop at MB. Its dirty and they don't clean the bathrooms. Produce dept has no clue and their prices don't match their signs and you cannot get proper help. Hannaford is devoted to customer service. And one manager even sings and passes out...

Really disappointed with this place. I went in, did all my food shopping for the week and returned home. Spent $166, which is a bit more than I usually spend elsewhere. The next day, I cook dinner, go to make a salad, and the lettuce was already bad (it was a container of 50/50 blend). It happens, and probably my own fault for not looking at the expiration label, though it said sell by Apr 6th (it was the 3rd.) Then, the next day, I go to use the strawberries I bought. Mold already growing, despite keeping them in the fridge. Then this morning, 5 days after purchase, the Dave's Killer Bread I bought already has mold forming as well. I live in a clean, well maintained luxury condo with a static temperature set at 77. All items were kept in the packaging and stored properly. I feel like I just wasted my money. I have never had this happen any of the times I've gone to market basket or whole foods. I will be sticking to their chains...

I come hear all the time and never had an issue. Just recently I was paying for my stuff at the self checkout and noticed I was being starred at like a hawk by 2 employees here. A younger man and a woman in her early 50s who was standing right behind the young man. As I go along my business and pay for my groceries not only did they not offered if I needed any help so it would have not been obvious that they were just watching me but then you see them go off to the side and talk as if I couldn't see what was happening. I've been a loyal costumer and was made really uncomfortable as if I were a shoplifter. Like really shoplifting a bag a chips and bananas? I will not step foot in here again. Might want to train your employees how to be more discreet and not make customers feel uncomfortable. Take your business else where, Market basket is literally across the street and...
