The best antique store in Northern Delaware according to Delaware Today, and I agree! Just tons of rooms full of vinyl music, books, curiosities, toys, comic books, action figures, antiques, primitives, oddities, and other collectibles. I have been buying gifts for my family from there for years. You never know what you'll find each trip.
In one room they have vinyl LPs and rock collectibles, in another they have a great set of Mid-Century Modern furniture and accessories (minus a great floor to ceiling lamp that made my wife's Christmas this year). Another room has antique hardware like knobs and handles to redecorate furniture with. In another there are works from a local artist. There is locally made and antique jewelry, lots of clothes, there is essentially a small toy store and kids book room with lots of superhero stuff, there is a good-sized collection of uranium glass, and last I saw, they even have a full-sized merry go round horse!
Some tips: Try to look online for the schedule for their sales and events such as on-site appraisors and experts on-site. There are discounts for cash purchases over a certain amount on most items. They are kid-friendly, and well-behaved youngsters can pick from baskets of treats on the way out. Fun tip for the kids, the music room has rows and rows of bins full of little inexpensive toys they can browse through to keep their attention while you're shopping, and the owners don't mind at all if they sit and read kids books or browse through the comics in the toy room. It can get crowded, so weekdays are the best time to have lots of elbow room and questions answered. As of today, they're open every day but Tuesday.
For comic book fans looking for a great sales-tax-free comic hunting day trip, they are a short 5 minute drive from two other shops that sell comics and also have great customer service, The Comic Book Shop on Marsh Rd, and Between Books 2.0 also on Marsh Rd. inside the Oddporium. They're also a short 10 minute trip from two nearby PA comic shops in Boothwyn (Cult Fiction Comics), and EE Comics and Games (only open Fridays...
Read moreThere is no doubt this shop is top notch. I just felt compelled to express my experiences with this business. I read all these reviews about great. prices, so helpful, and so on. I know when my family had a business buying and selling books, art, collectibles, we welcomed and actively bought items brought into our shop from people off the street. Everytime I Google something about clocks, zeppelin pops up, pottery, zeppelin pops up. I brought 2 Mcoy vases to them to see if they wanted to buy them. Didn't even want to see them, said , put them on market place. Why? I'd love to have something like that in my store. I have a Mayan aztec gear clock from the 30s, I called and said im soon to be moving and wanted to sell this clock, he said text me a picture, I did. He offered me ten...
Read moreWe happened upon this charming shop while staying in Delaware, and will definitely be back. Pulling into the parking area, the back of the property is lined with treasures, so before we even went inside I'd already found 3 items that would be coming home with me. The prices were more than fair, and there's no sales tax in DE, so the more you spend, the more you save, lol. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by Michael, who kept us company as we perused the enormous selection of vintage and antique items. Inside, the area is divided into many smaller rooms and booths, each curated by individual vendors with their own niches. You could easily spend an hour here and still miss seeing lots! Super friendly and helpful folks running an eclectic store with great prices. What more could...
