*dirty stations *messy sink without clean brushes *horrible customer service *long wait times }}}}} Very detailed review below {{{{{ I have never ever in my life been treated so horribly by a nail salon. I walked in and the lady who was running things said that she would get to us all as soon as she could. I understand that there is always a wait when you are just a walk in, but to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes is crazy! Even the two girls ahead of me complained about the slow service and how they have never had to wait so long to get something simple done. I did not even need a fill in, just a design! People who came in AFTER me wanting pedi's were seen right away. If I went there for that, I would not have any complaints! Not only was the service rude, slow and horrible....the nail stylist wanted to charge me $25 for a simple colorful freestyle design. Like seriously!!! After waiting almost TWO hours, this lady was not even trying to make me a happy customer or anything! Even after letting people come in and be seen immediately because they wanted Pedi's! I had her take the design off I had off and to just put a clear coat. When I went to wash my hands, there were no clean nail brushes or hand towels. When the nail stylist saw me taking pictures she started yelling at me. I explained to her that I am a google reviewer and that I post comments and take pictures of all places I visit. She told me I could not do that and that either I delete the picture or she would call the cops on me. I explained to her once again in a very calm way that this was a public place. She continued to yell and threaten to call the cops. I let her believe that I deleted them and she started talking about me in her own language to her other employees. She then tells me that she was going to go to MY job, because I had my work shirt on, and talk to my managers. She kept saying how I would not like it if she did it to me and about getting me fired. I told her "I do my job and my customers leave happy", I also told her which managers she could speak to if she likes. She then starts telling me how its MY FAULT that I was mad because I didnt have to wait the whole time and that it was MY FAULT for being upset because of the price she wanted to charge for designs. So after explaining how its all my fault, she then starts begging me not to post any pictures because she might get fired. Why would someone get fired if they are doing their job right? Exactly! She tells me how she has a family to feed and what-not. When it came time to check out, she charged me $6 for the clear polish, which should have been free, and told me how I had to pay a minimum of $10 because I was using a card....and she was right there is a fee.....but after the horrible service I just experienced, I was surprised she was still trying to charge me. Unfortunately, I had to spend the $10 so I could be through with her. I told her she could take the extra $4 as a sorry rump tip for such horrible service. She then tells me how she would like for me to leave before even giving me my receipt. ABSOLUTELY horrible service. I was looked over, I was threatened to have the cops called on me for taking pictures, I was told that I could lose my job if she went and complained about me, I was talked about in her language to other coworkers, I was overcharged for a simple service, I was told that I myself was the reason for why I was upset, I was basically accused of trying to get her fired because I wanted to take pics for my review, AND I was rushed out the door before even getting a receipt. I had called prior to arriving to get a good idea of time. the lady who answered the phone said that it would be about 15 minutes. When I got there I had to wait about half an hour. That is okay because I expected that since I did not make an appointment. when the lady took me back to sit down she didn't clean off her station from the previous client. The cutting process for my nails was very precise. that part I really did like so I thought my nails after the acrylic would be put on would come out nice. when she brought out the acrylic set she had, the monomer was very cloudy and I had fibers in it. I was very disappointed that it was very cloudy and as a result my acrylic had bubbles and fibers in it. when she started to file down my nails to smooth the acrylic the shape that had originally been cut with the tips dissolved completely. I was very disappointed with how crooked the shape of my nail had become. The length of my nail was also shortened more than I wanted it to be. It cause the effect of my nails to not come out properly. She painted my nails with just a clear coat because at this point I was just agitated and I did not want to stay at the salon very much longer. and even the clear coat was not laid down nicely evenly or over my entire nail. I did appreciate that she was very polite and she did not try to push extra services on to the service that I initially asked for. but I cannot give this establishment 5 stars or 4 stars because of they're improper sanitizing and the solution of the acrylic being cloudy and murky, and it was chilly in the salon. My clear coat also had fibers in it and the sides of my fingers are sore from the rubbing of her constantly going over and over on the shape of my nails. If I came back I wouldn't do it very soon. It would have to be in backup. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because the coat of the acrylic was very evenly laid, the establishment was relatively clean and they...

I went to this location after a recommendation from one of their regulars. I asked for black polish with a floral design. The stations were dirty. They looked like they hadn’t been cleaned between customers that day. The customer that walked in as I was getting my old polish taken off was told by my nail tech that she would be with them in 10 minutes before she had even started on my nails. She tried to be true to the other customer and rushed through my entire service to try to wait on the other woman who I presume was a regular. The nails weren’t even finished being filed when she started painting them. Even now the tips of my nails feel rough and catch on everything they brush against. I have black polish on my skin on the pads of my fingers because she wasn’t careful and the clear coat is on the skin outside of my nail like it is when I do the nails myself. She got up to go wait on the other person and then stopped and went, oh, you wanted a design, didn’t you? I said yes and she sighed and came back to do it. She spent literally 5 seconds on the hand massage (per hand) before putting the towel on and wiping it off. I felt rushed, like my business was very unappreciated, and the nails are not good enough for that kind of customer service. I am a very dissatisfied first AND last time customer. I will be sticking with Zena Nails on Derry St....
