I can't remember the last time I felt compelled to write a review of a hotel, good or bad. This hotel VASTLY exceeded my expectations. I travel frequently with my young boys, and I use hotels as a way to break up long drives. So they're just a place to crash for a few hours. I'm often irritated by how much it costs just to sleep from late at night to early morning. This hotel was such a nice surprise. The price was low -- $109! ($122 including tax.) We checked in at 1am, then woke up at 8:30. The room was nice and the beds were comfy, and it was QUIET, even though we were on the first floor. The free breakfast was amazing! Really good food and some nice additions to the normal waffle maker and eggs you get in free breakfasts. (Almonds, pumpkin seeds, craisins, walnuts, and several other add-ons.) The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful -- ALL of them, from the front desk staff to the cook to the housekeepers to the maintenance guy. I felt like a VIP. The other big surprise was the checkout. Noon! I often feel ripped off when I have to pay $170 to check in late at night, barely sleep, then get rushed out the door in the morning. Here, the normal checkout is noon! So cool! We had a leisurely, huge breakfast, then I took my boys to the pool for HOURS. They played and swam and I worked and worked. At 11:30 I asked the front desk clerk if I could empty my room out and let the boys keep swimming while I kept working poolside. He said sure, and he even set my checkout for 1pm in case we wanted to use the room for anything after. It's now 12:30pm and I'm getting a ton of work done poolside while my boys play and talk, moving from the hot tub to the pool and back. The pool is really clean and well stocked with big fluffy towels also. Such a great hotel! I normally see hotels as a necessary evil, but I'll be making a note of this one so we can use it again....
Read moreGoing to start off by saying for the price this hotel is top notch. We’re so use to paying $200-$600 a night at hotels when not using points or rewards nights. We stayed three nights. Wednesday and Thursday was less than $100 a night with tax and fees. Friday was about $110 with tax and fees. So amazing!!
Hotel staff were great. Friendly and personable. Check in was smooth with great customer service. Asked what I wanted for my Platinum gift. On mobile check in we choose no housekeeping. She asked if that was still our choice, which is nice she double checked.
Hotel for the most part is clean. As were the rooms. Nephews room had no issue. Our room the cooler smelled bad at first. Also, toilet was plugged, but front desk staff brought a plunger up in less than a minute.
Back to cooler. It is small, but for a non extended stay expected. Could fit maybe a dozen 12 oz cans in it and 3 small to go containers. Couldn’t get our growler in there, and I’d imagine a large to go container wouldn’t fit. We used the ice machine for our growler, for we came prepared with coolers.
Breakfast was amazing. 2 workers, which is rare for similar chains and hotels that provide complimentary breakfast. They were on point stocking, cleaning, and emptying trash. The two times we went before 8 it wasn’t too busy. One time at nine it was super busy, but everything was full and fresh. Decent amount of seating too. They always had fresh scrambled eggs, and they actually tasted good. Different breakfast meat daily. Weekdays they had spinach and cheese quiches that were phenomenal. Lots of bread items, yogurts cereals, and fresh oatmeal. Also 2 diy waffle makers.
Great place at a super...
Read moreWe recently stayed in this hotel for a hockey tournament and received the absolute worst customer service that we have ever experienced. The staff were rude and arrogant. They stood with arms crossed, glaring at our team every second that we were in the hotel. They tolerated absolutely no noise whatsoever even during the day. They refused to allow any of our children (ages 11 & 12) to walk down the hall to a friends room without an adult escort (after they put us in rooms scattered around the hotel instead of putting us together on a floor when we booked 14 rooms for the hotel!), and called our cell phones on multiple occasions to give us "warnings" about noise when we were not even in the hotel, but were in fact at a hockey rink 30 minutes away at our tournament. We kept our team out for the entire day on Saturday from our early morning game until after our evening game because we knew that there was absolutely nothing for the kids to do at the hotel and the staff were so hard on the kids and adults that we were better off just finding things to do elsewhere than attempting to allow the kids to spend any time at the hotel. When we wrote to their owner and management and complained about the service, their excuse for treating us like dirt instead of like paying guests, many of whom are Marriott rewards members, was that they were responding to incidents that occurred early in the weekend with a few people from a totally different hockey team. Not sure how that justifies horrendous service to everyone staying in the hotel, but they seem to have felt that it did. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN OR ARE TRAVELING WITH ANY...
