Wish I could give less than one star rating! Please read my review if you're considering purchasing from Ashley furniture Harrisburg. I don't want anyone else to go through what I have gone through.
Ashley's furniture Harrisburg has been horrible to work with. Oh, they are very pleasant the day you go to purchase your furniture, but as soon as they have your money, they are shady and rude. They told us the day of purchase wait times were backed up for COVID, and said delivery would be within 8-12 weeks. It's long, but we thought they were being upfront and understood, so decided to make the purchase. At nearly 13 weeks waiting time, I had not received my furniture and no one had reached out From Ashley's to update me. I called the Harrisburg store where my order was purchased, and I spoke to an associate, Fasha (Not sure of the spelling, but yes I am calling you out!) and she was the rudest customer service rep I have ever encountered. She must be getting a lot of these calls, because she was RUDE from the moment I told her my furniture never arrived. She could not give me an estimate of when my furniture would arrive, only that it "might" be in March. I asked if she could look into it further to get me a better estimated arrival date and she refused, saying it was a distributor issue, not a store issue. She told me that I was not even a priority because other customers have been waiting longer than I have (that's not helping your case). After that, I asked to speak to the Store Manager, and I was told someone would call me by the end of the day. It has been over a week, and I have yet to hear from anyone. I have also reached out to their online support, put in a complaint with corporate and have tried multiple times (after being hung up on) to speak to a manager at the Harrisburg location... all of which have led to nothing. No answer, no help. I've been on quarantine for the last two weeks, otherwise, I would have been in there to confront them in person.
Customers have a RIGHT to know (before a purchase) that it will take six months to receive a product. Ashley's is lying to their customers when they go in. Check out other reviews on Yelp and google and on Ashley's corporate page. It is happening all over! Even those who are waiting for refunds have been waiting over 5 weeks for refunds with no word from when money will be received. Please learn from our experience. DO...
Read moreOur experience started great but quickly went downhill as customer service was extremely poor! We just moved to the area and bought a 4200-square foot house (compared to the 1300-square foot house we moved from). Needless to say, we need quite a bit of new furniture. We decided our first purchase would be a sectional for the living room. We visited Ashley and were greeted by a sales associate named Chris. He was extremely helpful and patient as we made up our minds on what we liked. He also didn't hover over us like many of the other locations we visited. After settling on a sectional, we told Chris we would make the purchase IF the couch could be delivered quickly (sitting on the floor in a new home isn't much fun) and we planned on hosting some friends in the near future. Chris checked piece by piece to see if they could be delivered ASAP and everything could come the next week! We were thrilled and purchased the sectional.
When the furniture was delivered, one of the pieces was ripped/glued back together (see picture). Why would anyone think this piece was acceptable to send? Once we pointed out the issue, the delivery men contacted Ashley and I received a phone call shortly after. The lady explained that we would need to refuse the piece and once they received it, they would send a new one. I explained that the reason we purchased this couch was the convenience of the quick delivery. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience (otherwise I planned to refuse entire sectional) and was told that that would be taken care of when the store called to reschedule sending the replacement piece. At this point, I reluctantly agreed. A week later (I was told it would be 24-48 hours) I received a call from the store to set up a new delivery time. I was unavailable to be home the day they wanted to deliver so the next available date was two weeks later! During the call, I asked about the discount again and the guest services representative (Elaina) acted surprised that I would suggest such a thing! She then stated that she would have the manager call me. Guess what?! It is now one month later and I still haven't received a call from the manager. Read moreI had the worst experience with Ashley at this store. On 9/8/2023 I purchased three bed sets. I was told that there would be a split delivery since some items were unavailable in the store. So, the mattresses and foundations would be delivered first; the bedroom sets should be delivered by the 1st or 2nd week of October. I agreed to this “longer than I expected” time-frame.
After receiving the foundations and mattresses, I realized that the foundations height appeared to be a bit too much, so I went back to the store and told a store representative and told her that we were worried the beds would be too high for us. Her response was that I shouldn’t worry because the frames of the beds I bought are very low so the bed height would be just fine. I believed her. Bedroom sets finally arrived last Thursday (9 weeks after the purchase day!) and, as I was worried about, beds are too high that we almost have to climb to get over them!
I should also mention that since I had not been given any updates about the expected delivery of the bedroom sets, I tried calling many times. Either no one responded or the response was “You should get your items either next week or the following”, which didn’t happen!
Also, since the invoice I received included only one Night Stand instead of two, I called the store and requested to add another one. I was told to make the payment in-store or online. I did it online so I expected two night stands upon delivery day but I only got one!
To sum up, here are the reasons for anyone to be frustrated and regret the decision to buy furniture from this store:
