I had the worst blowout Iāve ever experienced at Bloomington this past Saturday. The salon placed me with a much older stylist (75+ years old) who clearly has not performed many blowouts before. As soon as I sat in the chair, she started making rude comments about how long my hair was, mind you my hair is a little longer than shoulder length, and did that throughout the entire appointment. I asked for very loose waves with some volume and explained to her I had seen pictures on Bloomington google and that is what I was wanting. I ended up with Shirley temple style curls practically glued to my head. She did not fully blow dry my hair, curled it still damp with no heat protectant, and sprayed each individual piece of hair twice with hair spray before even curing it. She hair sprayed my roots and then bushed them down to my scalp so there was absolutely no volume to my hair whatsoever. At the end of my appointment my hair felt like gum has been stuck in it everywhere! I couldnāt even run my fingers through it without it getting tangled. I mentioned to her that my hair holds curls very wells when I saw how much hairspray she was using and she completely disregarded my comment. At the end of the appointment she tried to charge me $114 for the blowout because my hair was too long. She even tried to offer me a haircut mid appointment because she was annoyed with the length. She ended up charging me an extra $20 for my hair length and tried to act like that was a discount. When I initially called to book the front desk person told me it would be around $60, I paid $85. Worst blowout ever! I went home and immediately washed my hair, had to shampoo 3 times before it started feeling normal again due to the crazy amount of hairspray she used! Will definitely not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll over this country, I am blessed to know some amazing barbers, hair styles, and salon owners. But, I have been having issues finding a regular go-to in the Lubbock, Texas area. Going to get cleaned up has always been a pleasurable experience for me. But, not recently. My last hair visit was last week. I called a new salon and explained my bad experiences and how I was desperate to find a place and person that I could trust. I was disappointed once again. They were more expensive than most other places and the lady was not very nice and rushed me in and out. I miss my Las Vegas and Detroit friends in the business. I should have read how many bad reviews this place has. I am a very friendly person. The guy sitting in the waiting room that I was talking with was friendlier than Veronica. I am honestly not that hard to please. Even after my bad experience. I paid my bill without a bad word. I even tipped Veronica, the rushing hair stylist who wasn't very friendly or personable over 20%. I even had to point out a few spots where she lacked to notice detail in her work. It felt like she was pushing me out of my chair to get to the next client. I would have been better off going to a barber. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to pay top-notch prices for really bad service. P.S. Below are some photos to show that I ain't just some idiot that can't be pleased. I bring gifts and donations to my Vegas salon owner every year when I visit on holidays. I have shaved my head for Saint Baldricks and charity. I hate having to leave a bad review. I haven't even done that to the other places I wasn't happy with in the Lubbock area. But, I feel compelled to do so in this situation because I called and explained my situation, and they gave...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been searching for a new hair stylist for over a year. I started using Tara back in January and she is super sweet. She took on a challenge initially with my hair as it had been butchered by someone different back in July of 2023. She has cut it twice dry which I was not super excited about (2nd time the back was uneven) and this past Wednesday washed, cut and styled it. I figured she would cut it even if she washed it first. After she cut it, she curled it and told me she had cut it blunt. Nothing is blunt about this cut. It is uneven all over the bottom and my layers should be able to be blended at this point to create a cute hairstyle. I wanted to cry when I fixed it Thursday and realized how uneven it had been cut. Years ago I did hair. I definitely know how to style my hair like this. I am not sure if she had two off days the last two times she cut my hair or what happened. She had initially cut it at an angle with the front longer and I asked her to cut the bottom straight this time so I could let it grow as it is right at my shoulders. I paid her $65 and am now going to have to spend more money this Wednesday to have it corrected as it looks terrible. It looked better before she cut it than it does now.
Edited to add, I got it fixed by someone different yesterday. See the last two pictures and compare with...
