Lyman Event Center — Local services in Lyman

Went here for the lighting of the Christmas tree. I didn't give it 1 star because I didn't HATE it but it needs alot of improvement. Barely decorated for Christmas and the tree lighting was not well done. The horse and carriage was a nice touch, but seriously, we didn't ride the horse because he was having trouble with his back leg. I felt bad watching him pull over 1,000lbs while dragging his back foot going up and down that hill by the event center for everyone to catch a ride on him for $1. Unreal! I couldn't stand watching that, so we had to leave. I made several people aware of the horses leg but it was brushed off like it was no big deal. Not only did I feel that was animal cruelty but what if his leg went out and he fell? What about all the families riding in that carriage and all the children riding? Wow! A treasure hidden in plain site. I used to work nearby this and drove past it countless times and never paid it much attention. It was a very nice hall/gathering venue. I was impressed with how well kept it was and got to go behind the scenes briefly to see the kitchen area. It was large well equipped and well maintained. Ample room for large gatherings. Clean building. They have free bingo and that's good for seniors and young people. Keeps the young ones off the streets and for people like me who are on a very tight budget it let's you win some things to give for Christmas presents. Good for Kyman! I wish more little towns...
