Food Lion — Local services in Lyman

Two stars is generous. Last time I darken their door... All I went in for was some lunch meat and a frozen pizza. The pizza is a variety I have ONLY found at Food Lion.

On my way to the deli counter, I paused at the fresh vegetables to see if I wanted any bell peppers. I had to wait for a stock girl to do finish arranging vegetables before I could get a look at the bell peppers. Not seeing any that looked good, I proceeded to the deli counter.

Once I arrived at the deli counter, I looked over the quick pick items to see if any were what I wanted, then I began browsing the deli selection while I waited for someone to assist me. There were two people in that area... moving about, going in and out, doing other stuff... I was the ONLY person waiting for meat. I was the ONLY person at that whole long counter service area.

After what seemed like way too long, I decided I would just get the dad gum pizza and go to Publix (for a far better deli selection).

Got the pizza. It appeared to be 2 for $9. Great!

When I got home, my bill was $9.50... Somehow, a $5 donation was added to my bill. I don't mind donating, but I prefer having a...

We really like this store but refuse to shop here anymore. It seems like there's always someone loitering outside the store and begging for money. The store either can't or won't do anything about it or maybe it's on Lyman PD. One person followed me to my car and I offered to buy him some food from inside the store. He told me he only liked sandwiches from some place down the road, then he took out a bottle of pills and said if I wouldn't just give him money would I want to buy some pills from him. Another day my wife saw a different guy loitering by one door and went in the other door to go shop. When she got ready to leave, he'd moved to the other door so she exited from the door he'd left. He started looking around to see if anyone was looking, then followed her out to her car and asked if she was scared of him, then asked for money. She told him if he needed money there was a help wanted sign in the window of the store. The last time, which will be THE LAST TIME, we went by there my wife pointed out a guy loitering and said that was the same guy that followed her to the car so we just kept going and went to the Food...

Pretty sure an employee here tried stealing my phone yesterday. I tried finding my phone that I lost in the store and couldn’t find it. The “find my iPhone” GPS app was showing my phone was located in the store though. I called the store from my husband’s phone the next morning and went up to customer service asking about the phone and both times the staff member said my phone wasn’t there. My husband goes back in the evening asking about the phone again, showing the store manager our “find my iPhone” app and how it says the phone is at the store, and an employee looks in a drawer, sees my phone, and then finally says “oh here it is!” They almost got a free iPhone if my husband didn’t go back, assuring them it was there! They should look more thoroughly before they tell someone that their lost item isn’t in the back.
