Me and my husband have been to Casa Carrion several times and always have a great experience! But after today I will NEVER go back. We got to Casa Carrion right at opening, 11, and weâre seated. On the back of the menu where the drinks are located, it says âSmoothies 5.50â. And when I say drinks Iâm referring to Pepsi products, juices they offer. Not alcoholic beverages. Those are on the page prior. I ordered a mango smoothie and a water. My husband ordered a water. The server brought out our drinks and I was excited because I have never tried their smoothies before. After two sips I felt like my smoothie tasted a little funny. My husband tried it and said âthatâs definitely alcoholâ. I told him thereâs no way because I definitely ordered a smoothie. I felt STRONGLY maybe it was just too much lime juice and thatâs what was causing the bitter taste. I took about two more sips when I decided I was going to just ask if it had alcohol. I felt silly asking, because I kept thinking there was no way!! When our server came back I asked âdoes this have alcohol in itâ and he replied âumm yes daiquiri, oh you wanted smoothie, right?â I was shocked. I understand servers make mistakes. I have been a server myself, but I feel as if this is no simple mistake. I told him I did ask for smoothie and to please take the drink away. He said âi am sorry about thisâ. And that was it. He did not speak to me or my husband the rest of the time, and when our bill came I was charged the 5.50 for a smoothie. I did not complain to a manager, or fuss about still being charged for a smoothie. Thatâs just not the type of person I am. Even though I do wish a manager would have came to apologize for the mistake, or the server would have taken the issue more seriously. I write this review to warn others to SPECIFY no alcohol if you were to order a âsmoothieâ. This mistake could have been a lot worse if I was If I was pregnant Underage, because my ID was NOT checked. And I just turned 21 last month. Recovering alcoholic and this could have been a trigger for me. Hopefully, this review can warn others...
Read moreWell, gather 'round, folks! Let me tell you about my recent escapade at Casa CarriĂłn in Lyman, SC. If you've ever wanted to experience the culinary equivalent of a warm hug from your favorite uncle, then saddle up, because this place is where itâs at!
First off, I walked in and was greeted by the delightful aroma of spices that could make even a hot dog blush. The ambiance? Picture this: the walls adorned with colorful paintings that look like they jumped straight out of a fiestaâvibrant and full of life, just like my Aunt Mabel at Thanksgiving after a few too many eggnogs!
Now, letâs get to the grub. I ordered the enchiladas, and let me tell ya, they were so cheesy that if they were any more cheesy, Iâd have to start calling them âdad jokesâ! Each bite was a flavor explosion that made my taste buds do a little salsa dance. The sauce? Oh boy, it was smoother than my attempts at flirting in high school!
And the service? Well, bless their hearts! The staff treated me like I was the king of the taco kingdom. They were friendlier than a golden retriever at a dog park, always ready to refill my drink faster than I could say ânacho average restaurant.â
Now, letâs talk about the dessertâoh, sweet mercy! I ordered the flan, and it was so creamy that I thought I was spooning clouds. I half expected a little angel to pop out and serenade me with a mariachi band!
And letâs not forget the prices. I left Casa CarriĂłn with a full belly and a wallet that wasnât cryingâjust like my dad when he finds a coupon for buy-one-get-one-free burgers!
In conclusion, if you're in Lyman, SC, and youâre not at Casa CarriĂłn, then my friend, youâre missing out on an experience thatâs more fun than a barrel of monkeys on roller skates! So grab your family, your friends, or even your neighborâs catâjust make sure you get there. Itâs a fiesta for your taste buds thatâll have you saying âOlĂ©!â from the moment you step in until...
Read moreThis place is almost always packed when I drive by it. I had to see what was driving their business so much. The first thing I thought was great was the chips. They were hot, and fresh and tasty. On top of that, their salsa is at a salsa bar with several different flavor and heat options so you have your own choice. I thought the salsa bar was great, but the actual salsa was pretty much the best I've tasted in the local Mexican restaurants. The food that I ordered was the chicken and steak fajitas. The guacamole was good and the beans and rice as well were good. The Fajitas were super super steaming hot. The waitress actually waved her hands over it as to cool it down while she said "it's too hot!" The cuts of chicken and steak were much larger than the other local Mexican restaurants. But when I tasted the Fajitas, I understood what she meant by it's too hot. Some of it was burned and dried out. Even so, it wasn't terrible and I enjoyed my meal. I just added some of that good salsa from the salsa bar to moisten it up. Overall, I liked eating here, but I don't think Casa Carrion is the clear winner of the best local Mexican a restaurant. They were a little more expensive then their competition and the food isn't better, at least not in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure why they seem to always be packed but it certainly was not a terrible experience as some of the other reviewers have stated. I recommend trying them out for yourself to see if this is the...
