When I first moved into town I was walking around looking for a barber. I noticed this little gem of a shop and immediately walked in. I've been a record collector and fan of music all my life. I was greeted by the friendliest gentlemen. He introduced himself and we began to talk. I felt like I've known him forever. Turns out he was my High School Social Studies teacher over 30 years ago!!!! He hasn't changed. Still the cool and funny guy with a heart of gold. This man is genuinely a good person of the philosophy of treating everyone with respect. I often stop by now just to hang out and chat. He may be a retired teacher but he is still teaching us all lessons. Not only in music but how to be incredible Human beings. My sons now go in to take music lessons which Alan kindly provides for them. He has become like an uncle to them. His patience and demeanor is a true testament to his character. I'm so glad that after all these years we reconnected and that my sons have privilege to learn from him. I can also spend hours in there digging through crates. I find something or many somethings weekly. Its a wonderful thing to have a shop like this around. Where you find folks from all walks of life connecting through the magic of music. Thank you Alan for providing this...
Read moreThis is by far the best record store in all of New Jersey. It’s the true definition of a small business, and it’s what all businesses should strive to achieve. The magic behind the store, of course, is its owner, Alan. As I walked into the store, this being my first time, I was politely and genuinely greated. This unfortunately is not common practice anymore in most businesses. I was asked if this was my first time and what I was looking for. We explained we were looking for jazz records, and was taken to the area of the store where these records are. We weren’t directed to this area with a pointing of the finger, we were escorted and Alan even moved some boxes and brought a chair so we would be comfortable. Again, the kind of service that is a thing of the past. Alan was knowledgeable about each record we purchased, and his pricing was fair and honest. I would recommend this store to any person looking to buy records. It’s a great buying experience. The wealth of knowledge that Alan has you will not find anywhere. He is kind and genuine, and that adds to...
Read moreI finally got around to stopping in here after putting it off for so long and im disappointed with myself for waiting as long as i did. The owner Alan is incredibly friendly and we had a wonderful conversation about various different things music, movies, and television; His passion and personality are immediately apparent as soon as he greets you. There is plenty of choice in vinyls along with a good selection of 8tracks, CDs, VHS, DVDs, as well as the appliances to play them and plenty of interesting memorabilia and merchandise. All with great prices to boot.
If youre looking for physical media, or even just a awesome place to kill some time browsing, i cannot recommend this...
