Riverside County Park is a great park with a lot of different options for many different activities. With two major sections, there’s always something for everyone. On the North Arlington side, you have a playground, multiple sports fields (including a brand new tennis court, soccer, football, and baseball), multiple gazebos and places to picnic or have a barbecue, and walking/biking trails. On the Lyndhurst side there is also multiple sports fields and picnic facilities, as well as a bonus dog park. Both sections are well kept up with and clean, with the grass never being overgrown. The dog park is also well maintained, and even has jugs of water and bowls for our precious pets to use. Along with that, there are chairs and tables for dog owners to sit and relax at while their pets go play. The only downside is during the summer when the sun is blazing, there isn’t much shade. There’s plenty of local wildlife including squirrels, birds, and geese. There’s also no shortage of trees and foliage, which provides a beautiful green park during the warmer months. Even during the fall there are beautiful shades as the leaves change color. Taking walks along the river is nice and scenic if you don’t mind the view of Route 21 on the other side. Pedestrians also need to be careful when crossing the street to get over to the park due to busy River Road/Riverside Ave. However, there are lights and crosswalks at the cross of Riverside Ave and Valleybrook Ave, as well as the cross of River Road and...
Read moreI love this park! I love walking along the paved smooth pathway while enjoying the river view. This park is clean, quiet & comforting with sounds of children playing & laughing in the distance or the cheers from a sporting event in the fields. There are spacious outside area's to have large get togethers or celebrations with tables & even a huge covered structure to protect you from the sun or rain. Well maintained & manicured pathways. Enjoy a short visit from a friendly squirrel or two along the way of leisurely walk. A circular path surrounds a ball field as well ,if you want to watch the game while taking a walk or jog. Nice clean restrooms & plenty of parking available. If your a serious Walker or jogger the walking paths are always clean from debris, even in the winter the snow is removed for you. Nice place to get away from the stress of the day to help...
