I went into Stevens store as a first time customer last week to purchase some cards and support the local business. Parking was pretty bad, his parking lot is shared with the business right next to his. I had asked him if he had any Shannon Sharpes and he groaned, not wanting to help me at all, and told me that they are somewhere, not giving me any clear directions to where these cards were located. As a first time customer, I bought more than $100 worth of cards from his store. Lots of individual cards, one box of cards, and one autographed card. After buying all of these cards, I had changed my mind one of those cards, the autographed one. I still had all of my receipts. I called the store to ask If I could return my card or at the very least exchange the card. Steven told me that he does not do refunds. When I asked him why he doesn’t do refunds, Steven got mad. He never mentioned to me when I bought all of those cards that he does not do refunds. After telling him that his service is bad he told me “I don’t know what you want me to do.” His reasoning was he didn’t know what condition he would receive the card back in but when I offered to bring in the card he was not interested. I will be taking my business to Heroes in North Riverside where they are more honest with their customers, somewhere I have always been taken care of. If you want to be sold damaged cards, get bad parking, and receive bad customer service then by all means come to Stevens...
Read moreI am a avid playing card collector, and i used to, and when i say used to i mean i made the wrong choice in going to, a place call chimera comics. Now i'm not going to be mean and say anything bad about their business. mist of the time when i go into their store i get the nicest people and i love their Friday night magic tournaments, but their is always that one time that i go there and i get the one person who is the person who doesn't work for the fun of working there. Now then i greatly enjoyed my first trip into this great place, and because of the great service i got i'm going to promote this place to all my friends. this place was clean, everything was in the open, and what almost made me "nerd-gasm" is their pricing. i am frugal, and at my most recent visit to Chimera i bought two booster packs for 'Magic the Gathering' and paid $8.40, but when i went to this place i got the two for only $7.00. now this might not seem like much of a change, but to me its what made me start going here for my card needs more. Last everything there was priced to, or even sometimes a little below retail which is a good sign for business. all and all a very nice...
Read moreWhen I was a kid I sometimes got dropped off at my aunt’s house in LaGrange, and my little cousin and I would skateboard here bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, dying to get a glimpse at some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in the display case or buy a few packs or cards of our own. Yes Steven has that very dry sense of humor and droll attitude that some people might not like, but that’s PART of Steven’s experience! He’s never mean. We LOVED going and talking to him, sometimes he would get a little aggravated with us and we would turn to each other and giggle, and he would talk to us about the card game and help us understand things. If I could go back in time and relive those core memories I would without a second guess, times were much simpler when we skateboarded down the street to Steven’s. He also taught us a lot of invaluable lessons! One I still use to this day! (Read the fine print on eBay listings, they’ll send you an empty box...
