Tony's Fresh Market located in Bridgeview 87th and Harlem, This store Is considered a full-service grocery store meaning ,you go to the store, get your selections bring them to the cashier. The cashier rings up the order, passes the food to the bagger and the bags the groceries. That is a full-service store!!! that's how you guys been forever and model that that way, now you added self-checkouts and now on top of that ,when I went into the STORE TO shop I wasn't even given the option to choose whether or not I wanted to do a self check-out . I had more than 30 items and when I got in there I asked the person running the front, is there a cashier? and I'm told no cashier's only self-checkouts are available until 9 AM. i did not like that, The fact that I had to ring up my own groceries bag my own groceries and yet pay the fees of a full-service store and other customers in that store felt the same way. I called for the store manager when I completed my order explain my situation and his reply was , well you should have called someone and we could have got someone there. .... that is such a joke and a lie because he was standing there filling bouquets while all the other customers are saying can you please open up a register he simply walked away when he started hearing that as if he did not notice!!!! so that is ridiculous and I will never shop there again !!!!and I hope everybody follows that example and this is going to be placed on yelp and any where else I an think of...very disappointed in your food...
Read moreTony's Market on 87th St is huge. They have a big selection of produce and deli products. Prices are generally good.
I have 2 complaints. The first is that it is incredibly busy on weekends and it is very hard to get by all the shoppers and their carts. I have been known to leave my cart in the outer aisle of the produce section and try to dart into the smaller aisles reaching around carts to grab an item I want so that I don't.get stuck in a small aisle waiting for room to get my cart out.
My second complaint is the layout. You come past the registers, then the deli section and you have to go through the crowd in produce to reach the back of the store. Which is the only way to get to the canned or packaged aisles, the meat, dairy and frozen foods sections.. The aisles are very long, to then get back to a register. This set up does not allow for a quick trip to pick up. few items. You have to travel over at least half this huge store to get back to a register. If you are just getting milk. You are taking a walk along the outside aisles of the entire store. Good for exercise but not for time.
So if you are doing a full shop, the layout is ok. If you can shop during the week while most people are at work,...
Read moreCashier Jennifer was pretty rude to my parents when they were being respectful and asking about the tomato sale and how she was charging the wrong tomatoâs. âCan you just give me a break?!â She said that when we were just talking amongst ourselves about the tomato prices. âIf you have any problems you can go to customer serviceâ she said when we questioned her about the tomato prices and how the sale wasnât showing up. She then automatically cancelled the tomatoâs basically forcing us to go to the customer service. Itâs pretty telling of the quality of service when quite literally there is a line up of people at the customer service and they all came from the same cashier. Even more telling when youâre about to write a review and then thereâs another review about the same cashier from a month ago. Overall Tonyâs has good prices and a great quantity of produce, however I wouldnât want to necessarily come to this location again. Quality of service should be a top priority. Countryside location seems to...
