"Bad service and it's not authentic Afghani" - I see the owner responded to my comment and instead of politely apologizing they started to bash their customers. No - we are not those who kept the door open. Looks like you had a rough incident with a client which you are trying to blame on me. I think that explains the behavior and service you provide in your restaurant. Let me just elaborate on my experience for the public. My purpose here is to improve your service and nothing against you or your team.

Service: We went in their restaurant (3 of us) over a weekend and order Kabuli pulao and couple of other items. The lady came back after 10 minutes and said we are out of Kabuli. I am a big fan of Kabuli so I must say I was little disappointed but anyways. I decided to try their wraps as my other relatives with me ordered some kabobs platters. She refused to serve wraps and said we can't eat wraps in the restaurant and we must take it to-go. Well, I have never heard that before. Anyways, I ordered one of the kabob item. they served two items first and we had to wait for long for the third item. when I asked, she came and said you order the third item very late so its not our fault. I was at a shock but anyways, I didn't say anything. Finally we are served and we ate cold tasteless kabobs.

Food: I am a big fan of Afghan cuisine and I have tried it in many cities in US wherever I visited or lived. NO I am not an Afghan but I can tell what is good food and what seems more authentic food as I have some Afghan friends as well. Their food tasted more like Mediterranean food to me. Nothing special. Afterall it was served cold and hard to chew. The food was definitely pricy but I dont mind paying extra for good food given the inflation. But this one was definitely not worth.

Finally, we are Muslims and we always go for Zabihah halal meat. I find the owners comments "Zabihah eaters" in a negative tone quite...

So when we got there we were first met with a women who greeted us with a frown and pointed where to sit down. At first we just thought maybe she doesn't speak English and was ina bad mood. So we sat and then when we were asking her about the menu she rolled her eyes in front us. Now, may e she was having a bad day, maybe she was ill I honestly have no idea. Since it seemed like she was annoyed we asked her if we could have a few extra minutes to read through the menu. We were also trying to decide what our 2 year old daughter wanted to eat. When she came back her husband yelled "they still didn't decide?" Then she came and with another eye roll asked us what are we looking for exactly. She seemed very impatient and judgemental. I said to her you know the way the menu is it is a bit confusing. Then with a very glaring looking she asked me if I make menus for a living. Then I got angry and asked her why she is asking me that. Then or 2 year old was walking around the restaurant and the owner a rather heavy man screamed at my husband " cant you control your kid!" Then the husband and wife I assume sat in distance and began to flirt, the husband slapping his wife's hand pretty hard and the wife giggling with every slap (flirting isn't a bad thing just maybe not the most professional...

Update Aug 2023: Alhamdullilah brother is now Zabiha Halal certified through shariah board. Verified with shariah board website.

Update Nov 2022: Thank you for your response, I see there is no point arguing with ignorant people.

Kindly, do not claim to be Zabiha Halal if you have no certificate as that certificate gives you the right to be called zabiha halal.

May Allah guide us both and seek his forgiveness for our mistakes.

Update Nov 2022: JazakAllah for responding to my review after 3 years. Brother first of all please learn how to take criticism and understand why the customer is complaining and resolve the issue and satisfy them appropriately. Secondly, learn how to talk to your customers and reviewers. Islam teaches us to be humble and forgiving. Unfortunately, your attitude is opposite to that. As a business you are suppose to understand consumer confidence and getting a Zabiha Halal certificate will boost consumer confidence. Thirdly I have visited your establishment, and know how you treat Muslim and non-muslim customers. May Allah bless you and your family.

2019 - If they are Zabiha Halal, why are they not certified? If you wish to instill confidence that your establishment is Zabiha Halal, kindly get a hfsaa certification. I have heard that they are not...

From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt welcomed. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. The staff went above and beyond — they were incredibly attentive, courteous, and genuinely kind, making sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. It was my first time trying Afghan cuisine, and I decided to trust the staff’s recommendations — a decision I’m so glad I made. I had a beautifully presented variety dish featuring chicken prepared in three distinct styles, and each one was absolutely delicious, offering a unique blend of flavors and spices. Before the main course, they brought out an appetizer platter that was just as impressive. It included a fresh, crisp salad, a flavorful tomato sauce, and some of the best hummus I’ve ever tasted — every bite was a delight. When I mentioned that I enjoy spicy food, the cook overheard and went out of their way to prepare a special side of roasted onions with peppers just for me. That personal touch really stood out and made the experience even more special. From the incredible food to the exceptional service, everything was truly out of this world. I left feeling both satisfied and excited to return. This restaurant has definitely earned a repeat visit!

was in the mood for some kebab and also wanted to venture into “little palestine” aka bridgeview, IL. this place is located right on 87th and harlem next to a myriad of arabi shops which made me so happy to see 🥰 we walked in and the owner greeted us immediately. it was empty inside (this was a late lunch, around 3:30 PM) but she mentioned that 90% of their business comes from catering so the restaurant tends to be slow. i actually took this as a green flag lol they have an expansive menu. before our entrees were ready, the owner brought us a plate of turkish salad, baba ghanouj, & a house-made tomato sauce with naan to try, on the house. i’m genuinely still thinking about the tomato, it was so so so delicious. i got the badinjan & my partner got the beef koubideh, both with a side of afghani rice. it was a huge portion for me but my food was so tasty that i cleaned my plate anyway! i fully recommend coming here if you are in the area, the owner was so nice to talk to and the restaurant is decorated nicely inside. i think it should be full to the brim with customers. 🖤

Everything was very tasty, like a home made , i enjoyed fresh tea and kebab, as well as afghan bread, highly reccomended, friendly people and reasonable prices. P.S , smokey smell of meat near the restaurant is amazing, it took me there, was my first time P.P.S Just saw some of reviews with one star that have exactly same text, guys, owners of nearby restaurants, thats not good competition, thats not how it works, i’m chef and restaurant owner in Georgia, i know exactly what i’m saying, just do your work good, make your food better and that’s how you get customers, i was just washing clothes in laundry and i just walked in this restaurant, trust me, dont look on reviews, just give a try and walk in, you will really enjoy it. i dont know anyone there, i’m just neutral person and i like food discoveries, travelling and tasting many cuisines. that one was really good, remainded me my home. good luck owner.
