DO NOT GO HERE!! Drove down because my friends and I got north coast tickets. Late night after the festival we went to get food because we were told to go here by a local who offered us parking. Upon arrival, we were not even greeted and were barely sat, which I could understand being a Friday night around 12 am, I was almost sure they were tired and worn out. We had a male server, wasnât super polite or super mean, but he barely paid attention to us at all. Again, I wasnât too upset by the inattentiveness but I knew it was something that was done on purpose. The food was good but inside was dirty. It was an ok experience but the environment wasnât welcoming or very clean. Fast forward to today 9/3/23, we decided to come again on the last night of the festival to get late night dinner. We had a VERY rude waitress, she wanted our food order right away and scoffed when we asked for waters, she walked away every time we needed a minute or two and left us alone for a good 20 minutes before coming back. We ordered burria tacos, a torta, regular tacos and stuffed peppers. She was very demanding about the type of meat we wanted, type of tortillas, and told us she was out of chicken pastor and while my friend was thinking of a meat to replace it with continued to ask which meat she wanted while she was still thinking. I also asked her if there was a choice to do both flour and corn tortillas for my meal and she proceeded to tell me that she didnât know and to tell me to just pick one. My friend also had questions about his burria meal and she kept thinking he said burrito, and after he repeated it many times she got upset and said âwhat meatâ and he said, âthe burria meal, not a burritoâ to which she just said ok to and left. The food comes and she brings out my friend american tacos, and I go and tell her she wanted the mexican ones and she proceeds to show me on her booklet that we ordered âtacosâ and to that I responded with âyeah we wanted tacos, but we wanted the mexican ones but you were being rude and didnât give us any option to speakâ to which she said âI understandâ and walked away from me. The male we had as our server the other day told me heâd make us new ones. We put the american tacos on the side of our table and she came up to grab them and didnât say a word to us. She later came back to drop off our new tacos and again, didnât say a word to us. After eating, I went to go ask for boxes and to check out and she blatantly ignored me, so I had to ask the man for service. I explained that service was terrible and I think theyâd do a bit better in tips if they at least tried to be a little nicer and he gave me the most sarcastic apology ever. I would not recommend this place unless you are getting takeout. Rudest people Iâve ever been served by and I myself (a server and bartender) went out of my address it and got ignored and got talked down to. I am really so dissatisfied and will not be dining in again. I get you hate your...
Read moreHello everyone. Iâm Writing this review to inform all of those people who simply canât eat pork or are allergic to it to not bring your family and friends to this Del Carmen location located in Bridgeview, Illinois. Just the other night I had placed a pickup order for my hungry family. I picked up my order and got home just to realize that all of our food was cooked in pork fat. The community is over 70% Muslim which is where most of their business comes from so they advertise that they only use vegetable oil. This was not the case at all. You can smell and taste the pork grease in both our steak and beef tacos and burritos we ordered. My family and I weâre very upset. I drove back and explained to the woman my issue and showed her our order. She was very rude and ignorant towards me. I explained to her that my family and I are Muslim and weâre not allowed to eat meat that was mixed with pork grease from their grill. The woman refused to give me a refund and started making a scene. The order was over 27 dollars but, it wasnât about the money. It was how she handled my situation which was very unprofessional, disrespectful, and unsimpathetic to my religion, morals, and character as a human being. She then continued to be loud and ignorant and told be that their owner was on vacation in Florida and to come back next Saturday if I wanted my money back. She could of easily handled my situation by giving me a refund and apologizing what had happened, but did nothing. My cousin and I ended up leaving the restaurant without a refund, food, or even an apology. In our minds it wasnât worth speaking to a woman that just didnât care and had no human emotion. I encourage everyone not to give their business and hard earned money to a restaurant that does not honor, or care about their customer service...
Read moreBeing new to Bridgeview, finding a good Mexican restaurant was important because I was used to some of the best food where I lived at before. I've tried a few places near here (won't mention names) and haven't gone back. I've been to Del Carmen 3X and I think I found my place! I wanted to give them 4 1/2 stars so I'm giving them 4. The only reason I didn't give them 5 was because I didn't like how they seasoned their picadillo. I had my heart set on some good picadillo and they were the only place in Bridgeview that made it. Even though I wasn't fond of the picadillo, they made up for it with their rice and beans. The rice is so flavorful, light and fluffy, tastes like homemade not your average restaurant arroz. Their beans remind me of my Mom's homemade beans which are the best!! The beans are freshly made, they are not from a can which a lot of Mexican restaurants use. No matter how you doctor up canned beans, you can always tell they came out of a can. I've since had their carne asada and it's very good. Today I had their tamales, pork in green sauce and chicken in red sauce. I'm used to pork in red and chicken in green but I thought I'd try them. I only like tamales from El Milagro on 26th St. and no tamales have come close until today. These tamales were FIRE, AMAZEBALLS, DA BOMB!!! I cannot wait to have my Mom try them, she will truly enjoy them and she is picky when it comes to eating Mexican food from a restaurant. My Mom is 93 and can't cook like she used to, so to have food that reminds me of her cooking touches my heart. Del Carmen is awesome, their food is like a party...
