Food Depot — Local services in Mableton

I only give it an extra star because of their non-perishables and they’re proficient-friendly cashiers. Stay away from the meats! We bought a pork roast there about a month ago and put it in the refrigerator. 4 days later it began to stink! Carried it back with receipt and was told that their return policy was only 3 days on meats!!! Bought some country-style ribs on Sunday, 11/17/23, wife opened them on 11/19/23 and they were bad! Called corporate to be sure, and corporate policy is 5 days from date of purchase!

Their meat department is horrible, (used to be great), but now it seems like they’re pushing bad/old meat and management backs them up!

Guarantee that if I walked in there with Federal Agent badge and asked for green cards, people would be scampering to get out the doors!!! The phrase, “customer is always right”, has gone by the wayside! I do not recommend the meat department here and I have directed a call to Immigration/Naturalization to investigate, as well as a call to a friend in the FDA to do a thorough investigation! And should I mention the dope fiends that sleep and hang around the front of the store, begging for handouts??? Well… it is Floyd Rd. after all. That kind of trash is to be expected in this area…

Update: Overall, customer service was horrible. I will give 3 stars since the buggy many is always cordial. I bought almost $400 of food, and had to unload and haul it all to my car by myself. The cashier had an attitude. The bagger didn't seem happy to be there either. He made a second buggy with my items, I had to compress everything in one buggy so I could get it to my car becsuse he wasn't gonna offer to help. Good customer service is very rare these days. Cashier Chrisshaunda W. Was rude, unprofessional. She does not speak, does not say thank you. Someone had left grocery on the counter, she stated to me (the customer) hand me that. I said "please", she rudely stated "please" while rolling her eyes. She bagged my grocery & didn't say thank you and walked away from her register. She needs serious training & so does her manager for not noticing her rudeness. There are several grocery stores in the area, so customers don't have to spend their money here in Food Depot. There's kroger, publix, aldi & a new store is being constructed...
