Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Macon

This might be one of Macon's best kept secrets in the retail category but it is tucked away in a shopping center on a side of town many people try to avoid at all costs. If it were not for me hearing about people going to other Ollie's locations we probably would have never discovered this gem.

They basically have everything you could ever want to buy. Ollie's is what Big Lots should have been, multiplied by a few flea markets. Everything from books, movies, yard equipment, food, cleaning supplies, huge carpet, kitchen appliances, and clothes is there for super cheap.

On the back wall advertised a free self serve coffee station which I readily utilized with gratitude. There are comical signs that line the ceiling showing off a very unique character like nothing else in the bargain retail business. And the staff actually make eye contact with you and initiate conversation while actually assisting you. What a concept!

I would imagine that if I had one thing specifically that I was looking for this place would be a little frustrating but it is a perfect place to browse and kill some time. It is just...

I love shopping there but the last time me and my wife went there last Thursday and few times before that it was do hot inside the store I could not even concentrate on what to get, I Don't know how the employees can even stand working in that place I mean there air isn't working at all the corporate offices really needs to get to work on getting air in that place that is so not professional at all that is no way to treat your employees if it wasn't for your workers yall would not be making money so my advice is put air conditioner on for them cause if not and I'm gonna go back there Tuesday and if the air is still not working then I'm gonna see what can be done about it the employees deserve to be treated better and I'm gonna see...

This store has great staff who work hard to create order from chaos, as well as to help customers however they can. Like most bargain shops, you never know what you will find, which is the fun of it. That being said, they have a huge selection of items and some truly great bargains. If you are looking to stock up on basics for a new home, a college student, or something along those lines, then Ollie's is a great place to start. Maybe they won't have every single thing on your list, but there's a good chance they'll have most of what you need at good prices; plus, you'll probably pick up a couple things you didn't know you needed until you stumbled across...
