FOLKS! There’s a new must-visit spot in downtown Madison. While I was familiar with The Lone Girl’s game, it’s been a long time since I visited them in Waunakee. Their new taproom is right around the corner from our neighborhood, so we decided to try it out with some friends who were visiting from out of town. Holy mackerel, are we glad we did. The first time I came here, we ordered a round and two minutes later they wheeled in a pack and play full of 12 week old puppies in pajamas for an adoption event. I got to drink beer and snuggle puppies. I didn't think anything would top that experience...til I met the bartender, Landon. That man is literally human sunshine. Any time we walk in and Landon is behind the bar, it feels like coming home. He's attentive, witty, charismatic and has a huge heart. Walked in over an hour before closing and would not be served. I couldn’t believe how rude the waiter was. I was very excited to try their food after hearing amazing things, but was extremely disappointed in the treatment from this certain staff member. There were other people still being served so I did not understand this unnecessary treatment. Hope to try this place again, but I will definitely think twice...
