I originally first left a good review of LT Mahwah during my first month attending. I couldn't have been further from the truth. This school has been nothing but a massive pain in the neck every step of the way. It is honestly feels like I was scammed. I attended the Advanced Machining and Robotics course. First you are to buy an overpriced computer from them for 1400 which does not even run the software for the class. MasterCam. It can't even run the demo version they give you. Then the computers in their lab are not maintained and kept up to date and they as well can not run the current versions of mastercam. During my time there I took 3 NIMS tests, and made the test parts for it. I still only received credit for 1, because the Director left and didn't tell anyone remaining the proper passwords apparently. I was paying 1,318 a month for this sham of a school. After wasting approximately 14,000 dollars at this "school" I landed a great job offer but it would force me to do night shifts. I told the school, my teachers, and all of the departments I would have to drop...For the next several months I received bills for months which I did not attend, consistently having to call and let them know I have not attended in months. The departments at Mahwah told me I do not owe any fees or money whatsoever finally and understood I was no longer attending. Fast forward a few months...I still have not received my 2 NIMS certificates even though all of the tasks and tests were passed by me, but now LT corporate has called me and told me my "tuition was adjusted" and I owe 3,000 more dollars. After expressing my confusion and shock to a LT employee at the $3,000 they wanted and telling them I was told by 2 seperate departments I owed nothing, her response was "Well that's Mahwah and we're corporate." As if that's a proper explanation to my experiences. Choosing Lincoln Tech was one of the biggest mistakes I have made. Aside from one instructor who did teach me some good skills, this school has felt nothing more than a scam, and hurdle that gets in your way of furthering...
Read moreMy husband and I came here thinking this would be a great opportunity for him to pursue welding. He was excited, motivated, and ready to get started. But the minute we started the financial aid process, everything became a giant red flag.
We were passed from person to person with no clear direction, and by the time we had our final appointment, the advisor became extremely rude just because she had to explain herself multiple times. But the truth is she was the one making things confusing. We weren’t just going to blindly sign anything without understanding the numbers in front of us.
Everyone we spoke to was telling us different information, especially about the Friends & Family scholarship. First, we were told we needed to provide proof of someone’s graduation certificate. Then, another person said we didn’t need to show anything at all. The story kept changing depending on who we talked to and that’s not how financial aid should work.
What really pushed us over the edge was when the financial aid advisor got mad that we didn’t want to make a decision on that same phone call. We simply wanted a day or two to discuss it together because this is a huge financial decision, not a fast-food order. Her attitude made it clear that they care more about enrollment numbers than actual students.
And let’s talk about the money: • One loan had a 10% interest rate • The other two were 6.5% • And when you do the math, the loan payments with interest basically cancel out the so-called “scholarships” they offer it all evens out to full price over time.
After stepping back, we realized this school is not what it presents itself to be. Based on other reviews I’ve read since, it’s clear we would’ve wasted our time and money.
DO NOT go here without doing deep research. Read the reviews. Ask hard questions. Don’t let them rush or pressure you. There are better, cheaper, and more honest...
Read moreCNC Machining and programming - i was in the second class going thru. Putting aside problems with staff that 4 months in corrected themselves. You can read reviews from others and question what the school can offer but... The following statement will always be in the reviews with the people who had a positive experience. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT." That seams to be the best way to do everything in life.
The instructors/educators/teachers/mentors or whatever you want to call them. But the guys I referred to as "Boss", Hager, Sustek, Ferreyra (i didn't get a chance to be taught by Morales but i hear good things.) They can only teach you so much in so little time. Push each other in class and they can show you more... Don't waste their time (its your time) and they'll open your world to a field that I have be able to enter and find a good job in. Just before I left school I was in the job that wanted and i'm pushing to learn more.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT... - if you don't want it you won't succeed. if you don't want to be there don't waste your time or others time. if you don't want it you won't ....
I could tell you i was down and out and this is a fresh start for me. But that's my story. don't go by my story.. make your own. write your own future. Maybe its not CNC but go past the advisors and ask to go to source. talk to some of the instructors and get the comments from the source. I think it will help you make the right choice for you.
on a side note... maybe its because these the CNC classes are filled with more adult people and not children... the guys in my class i grew very close with maybe its because we all wanted the same thing. i still talk to them and we help each other... so the cnc brothers that i gained there...
