Pita Pita Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Maine Township

This was my 1st visit.Honestly, I am not very familiar with this type of cuisine.I ordered a mix chicken plate.to go.I think there was 3 types of chicken..A few pieces were like pressed? not sure if that's the right word,a few were solid and then a good amount of shredded chicken.The chicken was seasoned very well.Also a good amount of rice.,which I had found to be bland,but maybe that is how it supposed to be.There was some grilled tomato and onion and that was good.The salad was ok .Perhaps a little bland.Again I'm not sure how this food is regularly seasoned.The pita was good,kinda fluffy.There was a hot red sauce,which I really liked on everything and the taziki white sauce was ok but I dont know if I'm a taziki fan .Overall the food was fresh.,and plentiful .I was full halfway thru the meal..Might get some garlic kind of sauce to put on next time.I was happy with my purchase and will return again to check out other menu items.Friendly service,great parking and cool...

It saddens me to write this review. My wife and I were patrons of the Palatine location when they first opened. During this time, I would often be greeted by the owner. His business has been very successful as evidenced by the many locations he now operates. Unfortunately, he has taken his eye off the ball. We've noticed an overall decrease in quality in the food over the years at all the locations that we have dined at. The meat is often dry, tough, overcooked, and over salted. Our last visit to the new location in Des Plaines was by far the worse. The meat was so salty that it was nearly unpalatable. Even the hot sauce was oversalted and inedible. Ironically, I remember having a conversation with him when he opened his first restaurant in Palatine. He deliberately used less salt and provided a salt shaker if you desired more salt in your meal. We visited you for the first time on March. Today i visited your restaurant again. We were truly impressed. We loved the traditional atmosphere, the warm hospitality, and the spacious yet cozy ambiance. Your staff was incredibly kind, courteous, and welcoming.

I had the pleasure of trying your dishes for the first time, and the tender, flavorful meat was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back and recommending you to our friends!
