They did the job good, treated me well. But the billing is awful. They told me what I had to pay for ādoctorās feeā, āfacility fee for endoscopyā and āanesthesiaā. For the anesthesia I was told at the doctorās office it was going to be $50, but then the day of the procedure I got charged $83, and they acted like I was already good to go, everything paid.
A month after I got the biopsy bill which was $255, and I just paid it because I understand that the biopsy is not always performed (but they could at least have given you a warning that YOU MAY get charged more if you get a biopsy).
But now, 6 months after the procedure, I got a bill for the anesthesiologist for $548!!! From which they subtracted the $83 I had paid for āanesthesiaā, and now I owe $464ā¦
I called both places (the facility and the anesthesia place which is sending me the bill) and they all say that I have to pay because the first amount was just an āestimateā and that after it goes through insurance they send you the bill of the remaining which is completely nonsense. I donāt understand how a facility that does this type of service daily cannot give the patient a real price for the service BEFORE they get it. It is always after the fact when they tell you the price and when you are already forced to pay. How can they be so off in an estimate from $83 to $548??
And not only that but the complete lack of communication. They couldnāt even give a WARNING to the patient to let them know that they MAY get a bill for biopsy AND for anesthesiologist 6 months after???
Itās just scary how you are told a price for a medical procedure (which was already very expensive). And then you can just keep getting bills for the next year or so with surprise charges that nobody told you about.
They really need to fix their billing department and COMMUNICATE with the patients. Now, having the prices dropping to be more reasonable for a necessary service would be a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStaff and doctor friendly and helpful. Appointments tend to run behind ( both office visit and procedure related). Office visit is one thing but when youāre talking about a procedure that requires āprepā, fasting, needing a driver, etc. there should be (at the very least) more communication about delays.
There is a disconnect between the surgical center and the office in terms of follow up appointments. Was told (after procedure ) to schedule a follow up for 3 weeks. When i called to schedule, the soonest they could get me in was 3 MONTHS. When i explained that i was told to get an appointment for 3 weeks, the scheduler said they are supposed to stop telling patients to do this because there are no appointments available.
In terms of the actual procedure- the doctors, nurses and surgical center staff and the facility itself were excellent. Everyone was very professional, respectful and kind. They informed me ever of every step they made until the anesthesia kicked in. I woke up in recovery. The nurse was great- I was up and ready to go in no time. Upon leaving she handed me an information packet that included photos from the actual procedure with detailed findings. She asked me if anyone had talked to me about certain conditions ( mentioned on the report) and I said no. She told me to call the office to set up an appointment for 3 weeks out. This is where they fall short. When there are findings of any significance there absolutely needs to be counsel with the doctor- if not immediately following the procedure than within a reasonable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had a routine colonoscopy screening at CFAGI after consulting with Dr. Paul Panzarella at his Lake Nona satellite office (see that review). The surgical center is located on Maitland Blvd just west of the intersection with Maitland Ave. (Even though I live in Waterford Lakes section of East Orlando, I did not have to get on I-4 to get to the facility.)
I was impressed from the first time I walked into the surgical center, everything looked modern, new, and very clean. The nurses and administrators were all very professional and guided me through the preparations for the procedure. (I will mention here that the prep was more bearable than I remember. Drinking 64 oz. of Gatorade mixed with MiraLAX is much better than other options I have been given in the past, and definitely worked as expected lol)
[I got a nice surprise when I discovered that my health insurance (UHC) covered the procedure with no out of pocket as it is considered a wellness screening; that has not previously been the case for me.]
After I was wheeled into surgery, Dr. Panzarella made me feel quite at ease and I knew I was being cared for and everything would go according to schedule.
Before I knew I it, I woke up and was given a full report of my procedure, with full explanation of findings and post op instruction. My wife and I were home before noon, and I was able to slowly resume life duties.
Thank you, Dr. Panzarella and the CFAGI...
