This Papa John's location, coupled with corporate, has the most insane policies that make delivery to my home impossible and haven driven me absolutely MAD. This started one year ago to the day when I moved into my new house in ON THE WINTER PARK SIDE OF MAITLAND. I am (or at least was) a frequent Papa John's customer for literally my entire teenage and adult life. I love their pizza. I tried to order online, and there appeared to be no location available for delivery to my new home. I Googled to check, and there is a location 1.6 mi away (this one) and another 2.6 mi away. I thought this was a mistake, so I called this location and they informed me that because I live in EATONVILLE that they do not deliver to my home. After arguing with the store manager and asking her several times if she knew where my home even was (not in Eatonville...) she told me simply and rudely, "Well, we just don't deliver to your home because it is in the 'map area' for Eatonville." This doesn't make sense to me, because again, I'm on the Winter Park side of Maitland, right across the street and over Lee Road from Winter Park Village. I agreed to pick the order up in store and that time, and spoke again with the manager this time in person. She informed me (sorry to hear!) that one of their drivers had been shot in Eatonville some years prior and so they decided not to deliver to the area anymore. This makes sense, except for that my neighborhood is NOT in Eatonville. So I'm completely cut-off from delivery for no reason--the same as anybody anywhere else adjacent to but not in Eatonville. I ask the manager how to correct the problem since we agree that it is a mistake that I should not be able to order delivery. She told me that corporate has authority over the issue and gave me the corporate help number very dismissively. I took my order home and called the phone number and after sever escalations, it was confirmed 100% by corporate that the store manager or owner has sole discretion as to where to deliver, and that corporate has zero say in the matter. When I called the store back and told the manager this, she nastily just told me that "Well, we just don't deliver to Eatonville, so I can't help you." I have the deepest sympathy for the driver that got shot one town over from my location, and I don't place that above my need for pizza delivery, but the attitude of the store manager along with the confused corporate practices have made this a HUGE headache over the past year, and has turned a loyal customer VERY disgruntled. I even attempted to ask the other store that is 2.6 miles from my home (seems like an easily deliverable area) whether they could deliver, and they said that they had no problem delivering to my location but corporate policies make it so that my home is in the delivery area of the Maitland store. I decided that I would try to call the Maitland location and request that they make an exception to deliver because it was daytime outside and driver safety shouldn't be a concern when light out. This worked roughly 3-4 times over the course of a few months. Today I just attempted to do the same, and after I had already PAID FOR and PLACED my order, the store manager called my cell phone back to tell me that the person in store "mistakenly" took my order, and that she refuses to deliver to my home. I told her that her store had delivered to my home several times over the last couple of months and she either didn't believe me, didn't care, or both. The order was cancelled and I am now (again) taking my business elsewhere. It's such a shame--there are several stores close enough to deliver, but the only one allowed to is the Maitland location that refuses to because they claim my house is somewhere that it's NOT and then the manager is everywhere from completely unhelpful to outright rude. I sincerely hope that ownership sees this review and contacts me because honestly management doesn't seem to care about customer service OR sales numbers and I'm SO tired of just trying to figure out how to GIVE...
Read moreIt is time to say farewell to this location. Tonight I decided to give it one last go. Oddly I should of read the reviews when I moved into this area almost two years ago for they speak much volume. I can name a list of things I encounter from this location unfortunately my experience here with all my orders 80% have issues.. From items missing, food not properly cooked and explains as such like the hot garlic sauce packets (that I did not order) spilled all over my pizza that I waited an hour for to wait another hour longer for a remake and them wanting the old one back which was strange for my family we been ordering from Papa John's since I was a child.. I almost 40 now. I never experienced them asking for the other one back as ".Proof." it happen as I was told by the driver for I was not informed I had to give the old one back when I had called (Thankfully I only had two slices of it of course my kids wanted nothing to do with it) but for them be so carless to not even offer anything for the two hour wait as if it is my fault, I did not even know this place had hot garlic I did not even ask for it? Than another order with over an hour wait for an Uber driver to show up because I am sure they are short staff and let's not mention the time they said my order was transfered to my old house ( that is in another city..don't ask how) and never called me..? I had to contact them over an hour later to discovered that information when the guy repeated my address 4 times back to me when I was placing the order. I personally had called the other location at my old address for them to tell me they had no idea what I was talking about and apologize to me for the other store mistake for THEY served me over 6 years that location alone and value me as a customer! After that I had to call my bank to make sure that transaction was canceled for who knows what happen to it and by than it was way past our bedtime here to wait another hour for them to actually get things right. Yet not once offered nothing as if I do not tip decent and have a decent order history with this location, and very pleasant when I ".do." call back to inform them of their mistake for I overlooked it far to many times. I understand how it can be working in a pizza place I get it, I used to work at a pizza restaurant with dine in, to go and delivery. Now tonight the pizza not only is the crust falling off but the bottom of the pizza breaking so bad we are picking pieces up and eating like toddlers and scraping it off the box... that's not how a pizza should be made and the cutting of it wasn't even a proper cut there's a square in the middle how they manage that I have no idea but the odd pieces explained it. I am not even going to call about don't care to. They know the service they are giving out. I honestly never had so many issues ordering from one spot and it's to the point I might not ever again order from Papa John's regardless what location anymore. To be honest this is not even Papa John's quality, they need to change the name for they are just making a disgrace out of it at this point. I did not want to leave this review but after so many mistakes compared to right orders it...
Read morehey you! yeah YOU! AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. the pizza you see the pictures of was one i was delivered not long ago and it was disgusting as you can tell from the photos it was a mushy and slippery mess and couldn’t even be picked up to take a bite. literal dough. the wings i got weren’t any better they were rubbery and undercooked i almost threw up. they sent an email survey so i left honest feed back. Tara reached out to me via email saying she credited me for the wings and pizza which can also be seen in the photos. when i called the store like she told me to do i was given major attitude about the way i pronounced her name even tho i wouldn’t know that from an email… by someone supposedly called “shay or shae” lol. she argued with me that i was only credited for pizza and not wings even tho the email clearly says otherwise. i asked if i could talk to tara herself or a manager at all and was told no one was there. at this point im good on all that nonsense. save yourself some trouble and don’t bother with this all around tragedy of a papa...
