Rich Carrano is the hands-on Training Manager at Jersey Strong Manalapan. No detail escapes his notice. Rich exudes positive energy as he strives to make sure that every PT client at Jersey Strong has a great experience.
When a stress fracture and lack of progress threatened to undermine my enthusiasm for the gym, Rich stepped in to recommend trainers Mike Orlando and Matt Moscatelli. With Rich’s help, Mike and Matt quickly turned things around for me. Thanks to their encouragement and expertise, I have attained a level of fitness that I would never have imagined could be possible.
Mike and Matt have different styles so a weekly training session with each of them is beneficial for me.
Mike Orlando is a superb, intuitive athlete with vast experience in professional sports and rehab. Each week he gives many new exercises from a seemingly endless personal database, ensuring that I stay physically challenged and mentally engaged at all times. He demonstrates the proper form in a memorable way, and carefully explains the purpose of each exercise. The pace is relaxed and the workouts flow along effortlessly. Not until a few hours later, when I begin to feel the after effects, do I realize that Mike has given me a full-body workout using every muscle I have. This is pure genius! Mike is humble and kind, always a gentleman. His work ethic commands respect; his ability to recovery from sports injuries is legendary. His presence in the gym elevates the character of everyone else. He is a constant source of inspiration.
Matt Moscatelli has extensive knowledge of the science of physical training, and furthermore he can explain these mysteries so that they make sense. He is a great teacher. From him, I am learning how to think and focus as I exercise. As a result, my workouts are much more productive, as well as interesting and fun. Matt concentrates on a few exercises and cheerfully guides me through the sets of reps, even when I think I could not possibly do one more. When I accomplish what he expects, I feel exhilarated and ready to take on even more challenge!
Both Mike and Matt are attentive to my fitness goals. They welcome feedback from the previous session. They have an uncanny ability to challenge me just the right amount without exceeding my physical capabilities. They have me believing that I can do anything!
Rich Carrano, Mike Orlando and Matt Moscatelli make a great team. They support each other, and share a passion and commitment to providing the best possible fitness outcome for their clients. Their approach to fitness as a holistic lifestyle is inspiring. The motivation that they provide -- and the results I am beginning to see and feel – keep me going to...
Read moreWorst gym and customer service ever. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. I have been a member of this gym for more than two years. Out of nowhere the gym increased my membership fee by $10 without notifying me and claimed it was justified because they changed their hours to 24/7 but they did not charge my partner the same $10 extra even though we had signed up on the EXACT same day. When I tried to resolve the issue they gave me a piece of paper telling me to submit a ticket to corporate. Corporate never reached out to me. The assistance manager at the gym could not help me whatsoever and said I would need to rely on submitting a ticket and hoping corporate would get back to me about the issue. I had another issue where the app wasn’t working and the assistant manager told me to submit a ticket. The problem was never fixed. The assistant manager and claims he knows just as much as the “manager” who never shows face. There is no way to contact said manager and when you ask the employees for his contact information they say they’re not allowed to give it out. Additionally, this gym lets middle schoolers and high schools enter the gym for free by sneaking in after a paying member and let them take up space for PAYING members. Their penalty policy for this sneaking in is to charge the MEMBER $15 because they “let someone in”, so you purposely have to shut the door on someone’s face to not get charged. I tried to let my partner (who is a paying member) in behind me and I got charged $15. This gym is an absolute joke and needs to...
Read moreThis review is for the Manalapan location of Workout World. I joined about a month ago (July 2017) and was told that by law I could cancel within three days of signing the contract. I learned that I may still owe dues for my gym ( that just closed) so I decided to cancel. I was directed to a kiosk to cancel my Workout World registration. I was not given any confirmation that my cancellation was received on the screen or by email. I went in the next day in person and asked for something in writing that proved that my cancellation was received. I told the person behind the desk that once my other membership was officially cancelled, I would consider rejoining Workout World. The person at the front desk, who told me that she was a manager, was that it was not their policy to do that. I told her I wasn't leaving until she gave me something in writing. She told me that she was unable to print it out. I repeated that I would not leave until I had something in writing. Finally she went in the back and printed a cancellation confirmation for me but made it clear that she was very inconvenienced. I don't think that my request was unreasonable. While I was there, I heard another person calling to cancel their membership and they were instructed to use the kiosk. That is not a good way to treat customers. When I asked her why she didn't just write or print a cancellation right away, she said something like, "you have it now, don't you?" and then...
