I've been looking forward to coming here for a while, and for the amount of people inside I'm really surprised at the quality of night we had. Waited 35 minutes for a table. Seated, and waited 10 for server, who didn't take drink or appetizer orders.
In the mean time, saw both side plates were dirty.
Server came back, replaced plates, then took app and drink order.
After 5 minutes he arrived with 2 very dirty wine glasses (literally with actual chunks of gross stuff inside) and bottle of wine. Pointed out dirty glasses, he left and came back eventually with clean ones. This is the last time we saw our server until the bill, everyone else was from the kitchens.
**Appetizer was the redeeming factor of the evening. The seared tuna was absolutely delicious, and I'd happily eat 3x as much for an entree.
Entrees eventually arrived, lobster tail for my SO and a salmon/shrimp special for me.
Lobster was small, but came with a nice amount of vegetables and an interesting crock of heated butter for dipping. Lobster was nicely cooked, but again, much smaller than expected. Vegetables were bland and unfortunately, overcooked.
My salmon was, in a word, disastrous. What was pitched to me as salmon and shrimp with asparagus sauce and grilled tomatoes/ side of asparagus ended up being overcooked salmon covered with a very thick amalgamation of something like cream cheese, mayo (?) maybe artichoke hearts shredded up(??) The sauce was one of the most vile things I've ever tasted. I'd like to say that's an exaggeration, but it isn't. It tasted, and smelled, like vomit. The salmon itself underneath was overcooked and dry. The shrimp (3) which it came with were also very overcooked and dry. It came with 4 halves of grilled grape tomatoes and 4 grilled asparagus. (4? Seriously, for an entree portion?) Those were delicious and a very nice respite from the rest of the entree. As a note, this 'sauce' was the sort of thing that glazes over with a strange and unappetizing skim of a different color as it sits.
Paid and left after entrees. I really wish this had been a different experience. As it is, we left still slightly hungry and myself unfortunately actually nauseous from the 'sauce' on my meal.
TL;DR, Check your dishes and glasses for cleanliness, Tuna appetizer good, entrees small, DON'T ORDER THE...
Read moreThe server was incredibly rude and lackadaisical towards my family's allergies.
My MIL had received two disgusting drinks that were filled 3/4s of the way. He handled it horribly. With the bill, he did not double-check that one of the dishes was canceled from our appetizer because of the allergies.
The manager, Kathy, was helpful but was not overlooking my dish enough to be certain that it was safe to eat. The food comes out fast here, and it tastes good- which was the only redeeming quality of this experience.
⚠️⚠️HOWEVER, If you have someone in your party with allergies, don't eat here. If you have to eat here, you can pray their manager Kathy is there to help and request her ONLY to bring the food out after she has cross checked, or honestly, bring your own food for your peace of mind.
I have been to countless restaurants- made the same requests with allergies, and this server was by far the worst. I requested him to double-check for the allergens before placing any orders. He arrogantly responds, "Oh, there's nothing. You can have it." His manager later comes to tell me that I can't. I hoped after this mistake he would be nicer. He was not.
Just for perspective, we have had restaurants list out all their ingredients, hand me binders, meet with the chef, and/or tell me they can cook without any allergens.
As a food establishment, the bare minimum is to know what is in your food. Places like this NEED to do better. I am sick of this behavior. These servers do not care about the customer and will one day make a fatal mistake.
Also, you never know.. one day, maybe you may have a loved one with an allergy. You would never want them to be treated badly for something they can't control.
Study your ingredients, or admit you don't know and hand me some book. I will feel better reading through it than trusting your job-hating server with my well-being.
Overall disappointing/unprofessional experience for a food establishment. Never coming back. Heres a ⚠️ warning to the...
Read moreBonefish, super good! It's a very nice value. It's not super cheap, but it is compared to what you get. The restaurant was impeccably clean, as was the bar. Our server was amazing and attentive to every detail. Really a professional server, this ain't no burger king... Lol. I started out w the Bang Bang shrimp, which was delightful on a bed of lettuce, fried, and Bang Bang sauce.. Yummy!! I sampled a friend's burger, the patty was fresh, not overly reliant on spices, just salt, pepper, maybe a small small dash of the Bang Bang sauce? and a good grill. Perfect temperature, and served on time with my filet mignon. My steak was juicy, tender and the horse radish sauce was awesome, just right. And then, the manager came by to chat, what a gentleman! Caring, smart, and interested in what you thought about everything and the conversation in general. Jeff runs a tight ship, tidy and all pro! Love it. A Martini topped it all off, no room for dessert!! Enjoy this place with no hesitation. It's worth much more money than what you spend. My first Bonefish visit,...
