Salon J'Za — Local services in Manasquan

As a new client, I assumed Geraldine would be a great fit for me based on the good reviews. I scheduled to come in for a haircut and left very very disappointed with the quality of the cut, the length that she cut my hair to, and the overall lack of technique. I have had long, straight hair my whole life, and I came in asking for a trim. I told Geraldine I was looking to cut off about 2 inches. After washing my hair, she sat me down in her chair, and unlike ANY other stylist I had ever had in my life, she did NOT ask me to stand for the trim. My hair was mid to low back length before the cut and it is pretty standard to begin the service with the client standing as to ensure the cut is straight. Geraldine spent about 15 minutes cutting chunks of my hair off, not taking the time to section my face frame properly or to ensure everything was even. I trusted her blindly but my shock quickly turned into horror when I realized she was taking the cape off signifying that she was finished. I asked her to please make sure my hair was even as I am familiar with the steps of a typical haircut, and I was waiting for her to do ANY blending techniques. She seemed perplexed about why I didn’t like my cut and surprised that I said it was too short. She cut about 5 inches off and left my ends blunt, choppy and uneven. Everyone I know who has seen my hair after leaving the salon has objectively agreed that this is one of the worst cuts they had ever seen. I regret going to this salon and to Geraldine. Unfortunately I was already upset about the length of my new hair and did not ask her to continue trying to “fix” the cut as I didn’t trust her anymore. I will be going to a different stylist as soon as possible to salvage what is left of my hair, and sadly having to wait multiple months to achieve the length I had...

I go to Salon J'Za for my haircuts and highlights. I have had my haircut by several of the stylist and always get an exceptional haircut. I have been told many times by friends and strangers as well, that my hair color looks fantastic and I have received compliments on my haircuts often.....many times by stylist from other salons. The staff at Salon J'Za is pleasant, funny and engaging. I would highly recommend going to Salon J'Za for your hair...

Came in for partial highlights. I assumed prices on website were correct. When I checked out I found that prices had increased and website was not updated. I felt they should have honored the price that was posted. I was charged 50 dollars more than I had planned on paying.I was also not happy with the color. There was no definition in the highlights. All blended in and was not the color I wanted. Not a good way to do...
